About Dr. Bernice Wong
Dr. Bernice Wong is the owner and practicing dentist at Joule Dental. Dr. Wong has experience treating a range of diverse dental needs, including hospital-based, special needs dentistry, pediatric dentistry, oral medicine, full-mouth rehabilitation, and full-mouth reconstructive dentistry. She values building trust with patients by discussing their dental health and being attentive to what would make their experience most comfortable at her practice. She employs compassionate, non-invasive, and aesthetic dental techniques and technology. She is board-certified by the Northeast Regional Board of Dental Examiners and is licensed to practice general dentistry in the state of New York.
Dr. Wong attended University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine where she received her Doctor of Dental Medicine (D.M.D.) degree with Honors in Research. Dr. Wong is committed to lifelong learning and competes hundreds of continuing education hours every year at some of the nation’s most renowned institutes of higher dental education, such as the Spear Institute in Arizona, the Pankey Institute in Florida, and the Dawson Academy in Washington, D.C. In New York City, Dr. Wong enjoys learning and collaborating on cases through local study clubs with fellow dentists and specialists.
In her spare time, Dr. Wong enjoys volunteering and the arts.

First time visit - so great. Everything from the front desk to Dr. Wong’s bedside manner was lovely. I really appreciated the receptionist walking me through the procedures that I would be receiving and confirming that they were all thoroughly pre-approved by my insurance. Dr. Wong was exceptionally kind and a great communicator. She took all my concerns seriously and provided all options to address them. Beautiful building, clean modern office.

I hadn't visited a dentist in many years after a very painful experience having a cavity filled. After reading all of the wonderful reviews for Dr. Wong and her team on Zocdoc, I booked with her office for a cleaning and consultation and could not have imagined a more positive experience! Between Dr. Wong, Dr. Surdi, and their professionals in the office, I felt cared for and looked after at every minute. They were kind, patient, compassionate, and both sat with me to discuss my dental care plan, priorities, questions, etc. There was a level of personal care I could never have imagined in a dentist. Dr. Surdi's dental cleaning was gentle, yet thorough; my teeth haven't looked or felt this bright in years! They took time to get to know me, make great recommendations for dental care products, and most importantly, instilled trust that I am receiving the best care! I cannot recommend this practice more highly! THANK YOU!

My experience at Joule was nothing short of stellar! From the moment I got into the office it was a wonderful experience. I arrived early and was taken care of immediately. Dr. Surdi, Dr. Wong and their staff are all wonderful! There are moments where we all have sighs of relief knowing that we made a top notch decision in our lives - choosing Joule Dental was most certainly one of those moments for me. I honestly never though a dental experience could be this great!

After living in NY for 6 years, this was the first time for me to visit a dentist and feel right at home. The location and building itself were worth noting. Located right off Park Avenue and easy to get to from the 6 (5 min) was the kind of convenience I could appreciate after a long day at work. The door man was pleasant and friendly upon arrival into a beautiful lobby that led directly to the office on the first floor.
I was immediately greeted by a friendly receptionist who took my coat. With no time wasted I was taken into a private room for x-rays and a routine cleaning. The x-rays were very thorough. During my appointment, Dr. Wong stopped by to say hello. Really nice interaction and learned a lot about my teeth between the two doctors. Thanks to the teamwork of the office employees I had a very pleasant experience and will definitely be returning!

Dr. Wong, Dr. Surdi, Mia and all of the staff are so extremely kind, personable, and professional. Really nice building in a lovely location. Office was super clean and not too small, and my cleaning was extremely thorough and pleasant while watching Netflix. They even provide an itemized list of procedures covered by your insurance so you know exactly what costs to expect in advance (rare in NYC). So nice to visit people who genuinely care about their work and their patients!

By far the best experience I’ve ever had with a dentist. From the moment you arrive, you are greeted, by name, from the most welcoming receptionist. The office is pristine and calming.
My visit was thorough, efficient, and educational. Every doctor and/or assistant was gentle and communicative every step of the way. I must admit that getting to watch Netflix during my time in the chair was a pleasant treat.
I never thought I’d say these words but…….I look forward to my next visit to the dentist!
