Dr. Sahrai is a proud native of the Washington, DC area. She has an extensive background in preventative dentistry and is a firm believer in not just treating patients but educating them as well. She performs procedures such as veneers, crowns, bridges, root canals, implant restoring, Invisalign, oral surgery, fillings, teeth bonding, teeth whitening, bone grafts, implant placement, and laser dentistry.
Dr. Sahrai practices dentistry in Foggy Bottom at Blossom Dentistry. She earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree and a Certificate in Dental Hygiene from Howard University in Washington, DC. I went to BD to have my teeth cleaned and filled. Those 2 appts were the most unenjoyable sessions I’ve ever had at a dentist. Their staff have terrible bedside manner. At the first appt, they would not warn me before using different tools and would use the same method even if I said where she was placing it was hurting me. She couldn’t describe what or why she was doing something even when I asked. They started selling/pushing treatments/products on me until I reluctantly agreed or asked to leave. At the teeth filling, they didn’t chat with me before the appt and it was my first filling so I didn’t know what to expect. The lady numbed my mouth with gel without warning me what she was doing/how long it would be numb/why she was doing that, etc. Even worse, they started numbing my gums with large needles without warning me either! So when I got emotional from the pain/experience they acted shocked and were less than understanding/comforting. Very disappointed with my experiences.

They completed evaluations that I did not ask for, and then refused to conduct a regular teeth cleaning as covered by my insurance under the annual cleaning. They came up with an elaborate dental plan that included an extensive cleaning, which would have cost me hundreds out of pocket and was not covered by my insurance. When I asked to simply have a regular cleaning that would be covered by my insurance, they refused. I had to leave without receiving even a dental cleaning.

I'm very impressed with this doctor and Blossom Dental overall. I had put off the dentist for too long so I booked an exam w/ Dr. Sahrai. She told me I needed a deep clean, a few fillings, as well as removal of an old filling and crown. She did not catastrophize my issues as other dentists have. She offered to do my deep clean right away and got me in the next day for the fillings and crown. Within 26 hours of my initial consult, pretty much all of my issues were taken care of, which I think is pretty remarkable. She's also very personable and used illustrations to help me understand my issues and how they might progress if not addressed. She paid close attention to my comfort level and inquired about everything I listed on my intake forms. The office is nice and the receptionist is also very sweet and accommodating. Will return and definitely recommend to anyone, especially if you have anxiety when it comes to the dentist

Everyone is really sweet and on top of it! Nicole at the front desk is very proactive with checking with my insurance plan, and the dentist/aid themselves are very thorough. Dr. Sahrai found two cavities that weren’t noticed by my dentist back home! She’s really knowledgeable and kind - I feel like I’m in safe hands

The provider pressured me into procedures that ultimately weren't covered by insurance. She explained that the procedures were necessary for my health, but they were rung up as 'cosmetic' procedures that wouldn't be covered by my insurance. Clearly she was adding on unnecessary procedures for profit, as I have never had problems at the dentist in the past.

Have enjoyed coming to this office for about 4 years now. Dr. Sahrai has got great bedside manners and takes her time to explain something. The staff is prompt and friendly.

The office was nice. I wouldn’t recommend it bc the dentist was very cold and aggressive with the tools she was using in my mouth! She was also sighing a lot which was unsettling. I also felt that she was making everything urgent. I am glad I stuck to my guns and got a second opinion. They charged for the x-rays which was fine but then not sent me one picture and one x-ray image. I had to call and email multiple times before I got them even though I paid for them.

I was waiting to write this review until my work was complete. I came to Blossom Dentistry because I was interested in cosmetic veneers. Dr Sahrai thoroughly explained the options for me specifically composite veneers vs porcelain veneers. After giving it some thought and with her expertise I decided on porcelain veneers and she did an amazing job!! I took advantage of their payment plan options that made it very reasonable for the quality of the work I received. I can’t believe I didn’t do it sooner! Thank you Dr Sahrai and thank you blossom dentistry team I feel like a new person!

Here's a breakdown/reasoning for my review:
It was easy to schedule, fill out forms, and provide insurance information.
They were kind enough to follow up with me with a phone call and confirm any relevant/pertinent information just for my awareness.
The office was easy to find and all the staff were professional and supportive/helpful/friendly.
Dr. Sahrai provided a thorough breakdown of what was going on and what needed to be done and she took the time to listen to me. answer any questions, and provide reassurances where needed.
I'm glad I was able to find them and I can't believe I'm saying this genuinely but I am looking forward to my next visit to the dentist's office.

I’ve never been excited about a dental appointment before, but this team is so kind and professional. The office is beautiful and easy to get to. The reception team is VERY kind and called ahead of time to confirm my appointment and accommodate changes. I didn’t have insurance and was paying out of pocket, and the team was very intentional about informing me and wanted to make sure I consented to each procedure and price. The dental services were excellent as always and I genuinely look forward to going back.

I had severe anxiety when it comes to dentistry. I’ve dealt with different eating disorders for over a decade now, so it can be very nerve-racking, going into a new dentist and having to explain all of the dental damage. The staff was empathetic, friendly, and accommodated me in every way they possibly could and never once made me feel lesser. They took their time, explained every step of the process along the way, and assured me we could stop at any point if I were getting overwhelmed. I will definitely be returning to Blossom Dentistry in DC for ALL of my future dental needs and I recommend others do so as well.

Dr. Mahboubeh Sahrai, DDS listened to my needs and created a treatment plan that resolved the oral issues that my wife was experiencing. The difference between her and other dental practitioners I've visited is that she truly listened to what I needed and accommodated my wife's situation very well! Dr Sahrai did such an amazing job that I also signed up to be a new patient as well as my daughter. I'm so happy to have found a dental home for my family.

Blossom Dentistry is an awesome place! They are very thorough and professional and extremely friendly as well. They take great care to make sure their patients are comfortable while also working with insurance as much as they can. Dr. Sahrai was great but doing my xrays took forever because my jaws are "tight". I usually need child size pieces to do my xrays but that wasn't available. I'm now left with two cuts in my mouth unfortunately. This was done by the hygienist. De. Sahrai is very gentle and listened to my issues. We came up with a plan that I agreed with and explained everything that needed to be done. She even gave me options. I will be back and I highly recommend her.

Dr. Sahrai was thoughtful and attentive and clearly explained to me why she was making certain recommendations; or how to better care for my dental health. I left feeling like I learned a lot about how to best care for my dental health and that she addressed all of my concerns. The office is beautiful and clean, her staff are attentive, and I felt very safe with all of their COVID-19 protocols. I highly recommend her office and team!

Great experience! The process was efficient, friendly, and professional. They clearly explain what they're doing, and everyone was approachable and highly competent. I have some gum sensitivity, and experienced zero discomfort during the cleaning an a sealant replacement. They did recommend different extra steps I could take, for both cosmetic and long-term health reasons, but there was zero pressure to make a decision. One of my best dental experiences.
