About Dr. Thema Hepburn
Dr. Thema Hepburn is a compassionate, gentle, and thorough dental practitioner. Her goal is to create a warm and pain-free environment. Dr. Hepburn’s holistic approach to dentistry incorporates a comprehensive assessment and desired aesthetics into individualized treatment plans tailored to the patient’s specific needs. Before attending the University of Maryland School of Dentistry, Dr. Hepburn attained an Associate of Applied Science in Dental Hygiene. She spent 10 years as a dental office manager and hygienist prior to attaining her dental degree, so she knows how to optimize the patient experience. After finishing her doctorate degree, Dr. Hepburn completed a general practice residency at NYU Langone Hospital-Brooklyn. Her certifications include Invisalign orthodontic therapy, sleep apnea appliance therapy, aesthetic and TMD injectable therapies like Botox, and dermal fillers like Restylane and Juvéderm. She does it all! Dr. Hepburn gives her time to many good causes as well as being profiled in the Academy of General Dentistry’s national publication. Her volunteer work includes providing free dental treatment of survivors of domestic violence and residents of impoverished communities, mentoring and teaching STEM disciplines to underrepresented children, and conducting free oral health screenings at a variety of health fairs. She also volunteers annually for the Greater New York Dental Meeting and the Academy of General Dentistry. When not dedicating her time to the office, Dr. Hepburn loves swimming, running, and snowboarding. Her cat, Khloe, and dog, Alexa, also keep her very busy!

Wanted to do extensive dental work that no other dentist suggested before or after (I have been going twice annually my whole life). I think her intentions were good but in talking to other dentists, I confirmed this kind of overeager dental care often causes more harm than good because I’m not having any pain or issues with my mouth. She also spent a shockingly short amount of time (less than 5 mins) actually cleaning my teeth which I found strange considering I supposedly have so many issues. Overall a waste of my time and sucks that I have to wait another six months to see another dentist using my insurance

This was the most friendly and comprehensive dental experience I ever had. I felt very welcome and very heard. They listened to me and were both patient and caring while still being incredibly knowledgeable about the ins and outs of their profession.

While I didn't actually get to see Dr. Hepburn, which I aspired to, I was taken care of by another dentist who was not out for the holidays. Everything was swift, professional, and efficient. I was treated with even more care than I'm accustomed to. I look forward to my follow-up appointment in six months, and I certainly recommend Dr. Hepburn.
