“Best optical service I've ever had. Same-day appointment with Zocdoc. I was a little early but staff quickly started with my care. Dr Mandel is really personable, good listener, diagnostician. Took the 'this one or this one' exam and for the first time ever, didn't feel stressed like it was tricks on a test. He listened to my situation about previous glasses, and he made sure to answer my questions, not just in-and-out like so many other doctors. Insurance was absolutely no problem for visit and for glasses through their office. My glasses price point was set by my insurance, but I was presented with a lot of choice, and felt like they were looking out for me; even Dr Mandel came out again to check that it was all good. I can't recommend him and his office highly enough. ”

“This was my second time seeing Dr. Mandel and it has been an excellent experience both times. I sought him out because my previous eye doctor kept messing up my prescription, but the prescription that Dr. Mandel wrote up for me was perfect! Very nice staff and great patient care. ”

Was easily able to make an appointment right near where I was staying.
The staff were welcoming and professional.
The Dr was great and answered all my questions.

Dr. Mandel was great and his staff is also great! My only concern was they did not sanitize between clients. That was the first time I've ever seen that at an eye doctor's office, and I have been going to eye doctors since I was 6 YOA. I love my glasses and so do my sister. She prefer to use mine that the one she has :-) Great prescription and he knows his work. I would recommend this team but they need to sanitize the stations where clients share equipment.

Great Doctor for firefighters and in general. Locations is close to headquarters and easily located downtown Brooklyn in general. Visit was brief but direct and did not feel rushed. Dr. Mandel listened and had conversation building trust and rapport all within the exam

The service was great. However, I was misled. I was given an outrageous price for the eye glasses and was informed that it was the normal rate that those prescriptions goes for and that the insurance does not cover much. (Please note that I did not ordered a name brand glasses).
They refused to utilize my original frame,, which was far more superior than what i ordered. In addition they were very limited in their selections.
I was refused my prescription slips and was told that they can only give it to me after I buy a pair of glasses from them.
Once I got my glasses, I received my prescription without the PD included.
Regardless, I tried to get the same pair else where and was charged one third 1/3 of the price paid at the clinic.
While the service was great, they were very intrusive. Asking about the type of work I do, then to end up being charged triple the actual price of the prescription ex. Excluding the frame

Dr. Mandel and his staff were amazing! They made sure I understood all of the costs before I was changed and even wrote it all out for me, using my insurance's fee chart as a reference. I appreciated the transparency so much.
Dr. Mandel was very friendly and engaging. He worked with me to understand what prescriptions I'd been written in the past and made sure it was the best fit for me moving forward. I enjoyed chatting with him during my appointment and felt I was not rushed or pressured into spending more than I wanted.
I will definitely be going back.
