Dr. Alan Van is a native of Fairfax, Virginia. He attended Virginia Commonwealth University and graduated with a Bachelor’s of Science in Chemistry in 2015. He then later earned his Doctorate of Optometry degree from IAUPR School of Optometry in 2021.
Dr. Van is a board certified optometrist and is an active member of the American Optometric Association. In his free time, he likes to travel, take photos, and spend time with his friends and family.

It was one of the worse experiences I've ever had when confirming an appointment. Somehow, the woman whose name is Haley, blocked me from coming into the office by implying that I was some criminal using an assumed name; then she implied that they dont accept Medicaid but I told her that Medicare would be paying for the exam. Then she claimed that the office had to do more work regarding contacting the insurance eventhough I did all the necessary work. She had me on hold for 25 minutes and said that she would contact me later. For some reason or another she did not want me in that office.

I was pleasantly surprised by how I was seen on time. I appreciated Dr. Van’s bedside manner, I felt heard with my concerns and felt taken cared of. He assured me that my eyes were going to be okay, and that I should make a follow up appointment if I don’t feel better. (Note: I saw Dr. Van for eye pain, this is not a routine eye exam). Highly recommend!
