About Dr. Amir Shahlaee
Dr. Amir Shahlaee is a graduate of the University of Georgia and the Medical College of Georgia. He trained in Pediatrics at UAB followed by training in Pediatric Hematology-Oncology at the Johns Hopkins-NIH Joint Program and Allergy-Immunology at the Medical College of Georgia. He is board certified in Allergy-Immunology, Pediatric Hematology-Oncology and General Pediatrics.
Dr. Shahlaee’s clinical interests involve the care of adult and pediatric patients with allergic and immunologic disorders including asthma. Additionally, Dr. Shahlaee has an extensive academic background and has previously served on the staff at the University of Florida School of Medicine and at Johns Hopkins Hospital. He also has an interest in drug development and clinical trial design and works as a consultant with the pharmaceutical industry.

I was overall displeased with this office. The bedside manner was terrible. He wrote off my concerns immediately and made me feel stupid for coming in. I got a skin poke test for allergies and that just confirmed to the doctor that there was no reason for me to me seeing an allergist (I only have seasonal allergies). I go to doctor offices a lot and I can handle someone telling me that a certain doctor is not the right fit for me, but I’ve never felt so insecure and combatted about my medical questions. I went ahead and cancelled my follow-up appointment.

Not the greatest bedside manner - comes in with his laptop/tablet, doesn’t make eye contact, is somewhat brusk and impersonal. Can be somewhat dismissive - Told him I was in perimenopause and he says I’m too young, even though the most common age is between 40-44. I have/had many other great providers - this was not one of them.

This is a great doctor. My mom had an unexplained rash over much of her body, and he was able to figure out that one of her new medications was causing the rash and was an allergic reaction. He clearly took an interest in getting to the bottom of things and not rushing patients thru his office. Highly recommend.

I had a great experience with Dr. Shahlaee. After months of a persistent rash and seeing multiple doctors who were in a rush to see me out the door, he was truly a breath of fresh air.
Dr. Shahlaee was friendly, patient, and would take time to think over my responses to his questions before deciding what to ask next.
In a world where doctors increasingly appear to shun complicated cases to max out patient volume, I’m relieved to have finally found a doctor who is willing to put in the time and effort to root out what is causing my condition.

The doctor completely ignored all of my concerns and was uninterested in even looking at the condition I came in for. I could have saved over 100 miles of driving and made it virtual if I'd known he wouldn't even look.
He had horrible bedside manner (gruff, sarcastic) and totally dismissed everything I said about my condition.
Although he is probably great at his other field (oncology) I do not think he cares very much about being an allergist. His apathy was palpable.
Clean office, short wait time, friendly desk staff and immediate appointment -- but as far as actual treatment, I am feeling an acute case of buyer's remorse.
