“Once I was seen, the visit was excellent, with lots of information and options provided, careful verification of my answers in the interview portion, a careful physical exam to verify symptoms, and sufficient time to answer my questions. Only issue, which is not Dr. Caputy's error, is that staff at the front desk failed to notify Dr. Caputy that I was present, resulting in a close to 30 minute delay for me to be seen. ”

About Dr. Anthony Caputy

Anthony Caputy, MD, FACS is board-certified in Neurological Surgery and co-director of the Neurologic Institute. He is currently the chairman of the Department of Neurosurgery and a professor at The George Washington University School of Medicine & Health Sciences. Dr. Caputy is a graduate of the University of Virginia School of Medicine and completed his neurosurgery residency at Georgetown University in 1986. He is a member of the American Association of Neurological Surgeons, the Congress of Neurological Surgeons, the American College of Surgeons, the Society of Neurological Surgeons, the Washington Academy of Neurological Surgeons, and the Neurosurgical Society of Virginia, having served as President of that society from 2000 to 2002. He has medical staff affiliations at many of the hospitals in Virginia, D.C., and Maryland including the National Institutes of Health. He has particular interests in complex spine surgery including instrumentation and reconstruction and is a leader in the field of minimally invasive spine surgery. His other clinical interests include epilepsy surgery, brain tumor surgery including mapping of eloquent areas, surgery for acoustic neuromas, Chiari malformations, vascular neurosurgery including carotid endarterectomies and surgery for spinal tumors. Dr. Caputy is listed among Washingtonian's Top Docs, Castle & Connolly's America's Top Doctors and The Best Doctors in America. Dr. Caputy is a US News & World Report ‘Top Doctor’ and in Castle Connolly's estimation, is among the top 1% in the nation in neurosurgery!
