I had a great experience here! The staff are friendly and the doctor is knowledgeable. I would definitely recommend this office.

This is the second time I’ve had the same person help measure me for glasses. Both experiences were not great and I left feeling like I didn’t have confidence I was measured right or if anything was done right. Things kept going wrong with computers and printers etc. Both experiences were just awkward and uncomfortable. I really like coming to Dr. Stout but I don’t want to work with the person I saw to fit my glasses anymore.
Dr. Stout is simply the best. He is incredibly knowledgeable and immediately knew I had an issue with my existing contacts when I switched over to him many years ago. He helped diagnose my keratoconus - and also got me into the hands of a fantastic surgical doctor (Dr. Chu). I can't imagine where I'd be without the help of Dr. Stout. He's incredibly talented.
I had my glasses adjusted and they fit worse now than they did before. I see that on the right frame that goes over my ear at that it had been bent too many times that there is a crack. I am so mad, now if I move they wobble on my face. I’m afraid that if they are as adjusted one more time they will break! I am not going to buy new frames because the lady there over adjusted them & broke them! I love these glasses and take care of the things that I have so as not to waste money. Not happy. I’ve been with Eagan Eye Clinic since the early 90’s & never once has someone done this when adjusting my glasses.
I received a message that my glasses were ready to pickup but what I wasn’t informed was that this was only 1 pair so I will have to make an extra journey to pick up the second pair when they come in. I also requested the prescription for my contact lenses be emailed to me and have not received it even though almost 24 hours later I have received this survey email. The person I dealt with was unfriendly and seemed like she would rather be doing something else. I think the after exam service the clinic provides is less than desirable.
Dr. Stout and Diane did an excellent, and comprehensive job of assessing the current state on my vision, as well as changes that may have occurred since my last exam, and also discussing potential ways vision can be improved. Their technical experience and knowledge, considerate and respectful patient care, and their collaborative approach in discussing examination methods and results are ALL excellent! In addition, the technology used by Dr. Stout makes for a positive, efficient and effective patient experience!!
Friendly and knowledgeable staff. This survey is asking for one improvement, this is not a complaint. The marketing department at the email address info@marketing.aegvision.com could share promotions with Eagan Eye Clinic, etc, prior to sending promotions to patients. I received a $25 birthday gift card from this email address which the clinic wasn't familiar with.
I so appreciate the way Dr. Stout listens to you and asks about any concerns. He answers all questions to your satisfaction. He is knowledgeable, skilled, professional, and caring. I trust him with the care of my eyes. The tech I saw was kind, helpful, and patient. I am so relieved to see the useless mask requirement done away with. I was not happy with that.
I have been going to Eagan Eye for over 50 years - seeing Dr Paymar first and when he retired - Dr Stout. Paymar worked diligently to enable me to wear contact lenses succefully and succeeded. Eagan Eye has the most up-to-date testing equipment possible. Everyone is so efficient that I was there a total of 45 minutes with some of that time checking in and visiting after my exam with Dr Stout. He always wants to allow you time to ask any questions you might have about your sight. I will never change where I go for my eye care.
Had issues of making an appointment for Savage, but it was scheduled at the Eagan location, then had ordered contacts at the Eagan location to be shipped to the savage location and it was shipped to the Eagan location. then received notifications the contacts were delivered and ready for pick-up, but they were not at the Savage location. there are some internal issues to work through to make sure clients are getting prop communications and scheduled at the correct location.
The staff always greets me as I enter the door for my appointment. I am very please with the attention I receive from Dr. Stout as I have had a number of eye-related issues over the years. The equipment being used is very impressive and I feel that my eyes are getting the best screenings available. The staff is very efficient at using the equipment as well.
Dr Stout is a very informative Dr. He explains everything that is going on. He cares about his patients and it is evident in the care he provides. DeVonna is awesome. She is very professional and demonstrates excellent customer service. She returns my phone expeditiously and answers all of my questions. Thanks DeVonna for helping me with all of my benefit questions
Dr. Stout is great. I appreciate that he gives me an opportunity to ask questions and explains things well. My appointment with the assistant started 5 minutes late. I am on a tight schedule and that did not make me happy. Otherwise, I find it offensive that I can only see half of peoples' faces. Lose the masks. People have to get used to interacting again, and coddling of fear-monger customers is ridiculous. I want to see faces, not anxiety face diapers. Dr. Stout explained, and I appreciate that, but enough is enough. This would not keep me from returning, but I feel strongly that we need to act normally and not let stupidity reign. I referred someone to the clinic - hope she becomes a regular.
I'm not 100% positive that Dr. Stout got my prescription correct and may have to come back and get rechecked. Also, the person who helped me order my glasses seemed to struggle with figuring out my insurance and I am not sure it will be correct. Wish we could pay part up front and the rest after it goes through insurance. The positives...very easy to get an appointment and everyone there is super nice!
I've been a client/patient of Dr. Benjamin Stout for many years, and consider him a friend. The new office interior looks great! And, the staff are welcoming, personable, and professional! My only concern would be the car parking. The parking spaces could be a bit wider to avoid any potential door dings/paint damage. FYI - I was able to drive right up and park directly in front of the office during my recent visit. Thank you!
Dr. Stout has been my provider for years. I can tell that he reviews my history before the appointment, never seems rushed, and I trust him completely with my eye health. Alex was exceptional! He explained every step in my initial exam, listened intently, and relayed all of my information thoroughly to Dr. Stout in a professional and concise manner. The front desk staff were personable and we enjoyed an unexpected rainbow out the window :)
I’ve been coming to Eagan Eye Clinic and have been seeing doctor Stout since I was 11 years old (I am now 20). He was a recommendation from my ophthalmologist when I wanted to start wearing contacts for playing sports. Him and the staff made it really easy for me as an 11 year old to make the transition into wearing contacts after 8 years of only glasses. Eagan Eye is also very efficient with scheduling, and I’m always able to get in for an appointment in a timely manner. I’ve had such a positive experience with Eagan Eye, that my dad, who had been going to the same clinic for a very long time, is now a patient/customer with Eagan Eye. When my brother needed to start wearing glasses, he also came to Eagan Eye. We have all had a great experience with it. I honestly have no critiques, and I wouldn’t change a thing! I’m so glad that my ophthalmologist recommended doctor Stout and Eagan Eye.
EEC were very kind and patient with my preschooler and me during our visit--she's very calm, but still only three--and although the office seemed oriented toward older patients, I was made to feel welcome bringing my young child in for her eye exam. She is normally very shy around strangers, but felt very comfortable interacting with your friendly staff and the kind doctor who examined her, which is really telling for me. I wouldn't have changed anything about our visit. Thank you very much!
Every time I visit you guys the counter staff is so nice and welcoming... Dr. Stout is very thorough and genuine. This past visit, the staff at Eagan Eye Clinic did the research on my health insurance provider and realized there was extra coverage that resulted in lowering my co-pay! You guys are truly working in my best interest - Thank YOU! I have recommended you to quite a few family and friends because of your attention to detail... you guys are the BEST!
I have seen Dr. Stout since he started at Eagan Eye and I trust him. I have referred many to him. I was not as happy with supporting staff this visit. There were changes in the exam, not the usual row of three machines and an extra charge that Leah( I believe) couldn’t fully explain. She also did not seem proficient in taking the eye pressure, holding it on my eye for at least 6 pings, different than any other person. Dr. Stout did explain about the extra cost, however, as I think about previous visits, it seems like charging for something (the x-ray picture) that has always been included without extra charge. I will return to Dr . Stout
My contacts were extremely difficult to fit for my eyes and that required many visits. Dr. Stout and Eve were extremely helpful and patient. They were confident that they could figure it out when I wasn’t. I’m the end, they did it and I am extremely grateful for that. I am super happy and I am so glad to be able to see again without the use of glasses!
The person doing my pre exam- couldn’t answer my questions- when I asked what is she ckg- she said it’s to help the dr so he doesn’t have to do it- when she later xrayed my retina-I asked’what is a retina?’ She didn’t know. I can understand if she is told to refer questions to dr- but- to say she doesn’t know - is unacceptable to me. The last 3 times I went in- there were several young girls standing around the phone desk area- talking/ laughing amongst themselves- I felt as if I was intruding when I checked in. I think actually the worst- experience- dr stout was going to send a referral to a Retina Specialist re : My xray and concern for Macular Degeneration- he told me their office would call me- this was a Thursday- on Monday I called Eagan Eye Clinic to say I hadn’t gotten a call- after a brief hold- the gal cms back on phone and said- they will call u w/in 2 days and apologized- when I asked- ‘are you saying u never sent that referral?’ She said- ‘yes- it was misplaced but found
My optician, Maddie, was friendly and kept me informed. Dr Stout attentively listened. Facility was clean, fresh and bright. Had to wear a mask the whole time, which was annoying, even as we were asked to touch all kinds of things others were also touching (tablet, eye cover, my license & ins card, etc). Office staff was friendly but didn't look very professional. I had to suggest they take my medical insurance card, which would be needed. Biggest disappointment- the limited frame selection.
I thought that the whole experience from dealing with the reception folks, to the analysis by Dr Stout was very professional! I was having blood in an eye and he was able to assure me that it was a minor injury, and that it would take a few weeks for the blood to make the transition out of the eye. The eye has definitely been healing since that time.
Simple ordering of a contact took FOREVER... she didn't seem to know what she was doing; "talking herself through it" (unprofessional). I was never contacted when it came in (said I'd been texted..... no, never received a text). Meanwhile it sat there for a week. This makes a difference to a hard contact wearer. Have to build up wearing time again. Same person waited on me for pickup. She tried to give me someone else's order..... I think Dr. Stout is awesome and I've been seeing him for many years. Staff wasn't as impressive this time.
Dr. Stout - Outstanding. Competent, excellent domain knowledge, communicates well, would highly recommend him. Staff - It seems as though there was only one person that knew much of anything and she was "the person in the back room", not the person I was working with to get frames and lenses. I mentioned I wanted glass lenses but it was not until 20 minutes into the frame search that the "frame" person asked the "back room" person how to find frames that offered glass lenses on whatever web application the "frame" person was working with. It was at this point the "great revelation" was made ... the corporation under which the eye clinic operates does not offer glass lenses. This should be table-stakes information provided to "frame" people during training. "We don't do glass lenses. If someone demands them, tell them to go somewhere else". TL;DR; Strout - Outstanding. Frame and Lens Shop - spend your time and money elsewhere.
I have been a client of the Eagan Eye clinic for many eyes.. Dr Stout is outstanding and as long as he is there he will be my primary vision care provider. However, as Medicare patient with no insurance frames & lenses are too costly therefore those items are purchased elsewhere that was not the case when I had insurance coverage through my employer.
The service in the in the glasses area is not good. You have people sitting around at their desk that do not acknowledge you or walk out of the room without acknowledging you. The wait can be forever. I don't know what's going on. Are people not cross trained? There may be 4 people working and only 1 of them can help you when you pick up your glasses. The girl that helped me was extremely slow. She went in the back room to get my glasses and it seemed like it took forever because she started up a conversation with another employee while in there. When I asked her to tighten the bows in back of my ears, something I could do myself, she came back and had tightened the sides to the point that it hurt my temples. When she asked if I wanted her to redo it I told her no that I would do it myself because everything takes forever there. There just is no sense of urgency whatsoever in that area. The only people that seem to have a sense of customer service are the girls behind the de
Dr. Stout always explains everything clearly and answers any and all questions I might have. I never feel like I'm being rushed. I also appreciated the helpfulness of the front desk staff. My only complaint was minor--I was sitting under a speaker in the lobby and didn't at all care for the selection of music--found it irritating, in fact. On the other hand the music piped into the exam room was low key, pleasant and soothing.
Long time patient at this location, maybe since my teens, with gaps due to college, being healthy, etc. As my eyes have changed I have very much appreciated the new investments in technology and the investments both in staff and facilities. I did have to call the day before my appointment to check that I had an appointment, then to get a notification later in the day. Maybe send reminder notices a bit earlier, with confirmation link or acknowledgment. Keep doing the right things and thanks for the friendly staff.
The doctor felt like he was just going through the motions of the appointment and when I asked a specific question about an issue I had been having with my eye he sort of shrugged it off and said it's probably just allergies. When I went to look at glasses the salesperson gave me such a hard sell that I highly doubt I will ever buy glasses here again. There wasn't any 'I recommend that you do XYZ lens' it was 'you are doing this lens'. Very pushy and I felt very uncomfortable and since I spent thousands of dollars on glasses I really shouldn't have had that feeling.
