About Carly Friedman

PA Carly Friedman is a highly trained and compassionate board-certified Physician Assistant who joined Medical Arts clinics to serve the downtown population of New York City. She earned her Master’s in Physician Assistant Studies from Touro University. PA Friedman is very passionate about treating patients, addressing unmet needs, and counseling patients on long-term health goals. She enjoys connecting with her patients and always strives to provide patient-centered care.
PA Friedman works in conjunction with a group of Internal Medicine doctors at Medical Arts Comprehensive offices. She has a particular interest in treating hypertension and diabetes, as well as seeing patients for general consultations, annual physical exams, and disease prevention consultations. She will refer her patients to a variety of in-house specialists and tests if any health problems need further investigation.
PA Friedman works alongside other Board Certified Physicians who specialize in a range of fields including Cardiology, Neurology, Pain Management, Pulmonology, Sleep Medicine, Gastroenterology, and Orthopaedics. At Medical Arts clinics, all our doctors work together to provide comprehensive medical care for our patients, fulfilling all patients’ needs. The office staff was nice and knowledgeable. They do their intake and vitals as an assembly line having you wait in the hallway, which was new to me but not bad. However, the doctor and technician I saw were both invested in their phone happenings (technician took a call during my exam) and the doctor didn’t even listen to my lungs as I went in for a cough.

The provider spent under 5 minutes speaking with me, and arbitrarily refused to help me with the concern I came in for, only because it was my first appointment with her. She wouldn't even discuss it. I also found out when I checked out that she referred me to a neurologist, and there was no discussion of a neurologist or any related concerns during my appointment, and I still have no idea why she did that.

PA was very nice and knowledge. However, experience was very odd and assembly line like. Patients are funneled between multiple rooms for vitals, tests, and to see the PA/Dr as opposed to staying in one room for the entirety of the visit.
I went in for a strep/COVID rapid test, and was referred to a lab quest for a step culture (which I thought was odd bc most dr offices do strep cultures). When I went to lab quest, they said they don’t do those tests and the dr office needs to order it. After wasting hours going to the lab quest, I called the dr office for next steps, and instead of being apologetic referred me to another location 50 minutes away from me. Absolutely no respect for my time and overall seems incredibly disorganized. I will not be going back.

Carly is the best doctor I’ve seen so far. I spent years uncertain about my condition. Carly wasted no time in running full tests and finding solutions. Above this, she listened, she was real, she talked to me like she cared and she stayed consistent in her confidence to help me.

Honestly one of the worst experiences i’ve ever had. I might has well have NOT gone to a doctor. Could not X-Ray me same day I came in even though they had facilities. Told me ti come in the next day but did not tell me X-ray location was at a different building. On top of that they told me it’d take a week and a half to review my X-Ray results? I literally came in for a wrist fracture and you’re making me wait damn near 2 weeks to find out if i have a fracture. Holding my money hostage and absolute waste of time. Could not recommend more to go somewhere else.

The doctor I was to meet with was great and answered my questions. The rest of the facility was questionable. I felt like I was being “up-sold” on other treatments. (I went in for a pain in my hand/thumb and they kept pushing an allergy test and breathing test). At one point, they mistook me for another patient and were going to perform a procedure on me that was meant for someone else waiting. The doctor was great, but may be looking elsewhere for further treatment.

My experience was a good one. I walked in. They took care of me quickly. I spoke to the physician assistant. She sent me to get x-rays of my hand, and also bloodwork I was taken care quickly hopefully I get my results back from my x-rays sooner than later

Horrible, I called ahead of time informing them I was 10 minutes away. I arrived exactly in 10 minutes and I was told to reschedule after speaking with them 10 minutes ago with them telling me it was perfectly fine. So I feel that it wasn't right not to add to it that their place of business is not in the correct location.

Had a terrible experience here. I waited 45 minutes for my vitals and then another 45 minutes to be seen by Dr. Friedman. She called in a different patient in before me that had just arrived. When I asked the front desk they said “I have no idea why she would do that but you’ll definitely be next.” The office itself was gross. The initial waiting room was fine but shortly after checking in you will be asked to sit in the hallway directly outside the exam rooms to wait for your doctor. I’ve never been anywhere with an experience like that. As far as Dr. Friedman goes she was fine. I was in the room with her for less than 10 minutes, she listened to me but it did feel rushed and there was no personal touch at all. Overall, I say stay away!!!

Went for an annual physical. The PA spent all of 2 minutes with me and did not conduct any physical exam. She was nice and pleasant enough but I’m not sure how this even counts as an appointment with a doctor.

Terrible experience, avoid at all costs. Didn’t even see the doctor I booked with after waiting for an hour. They don’t do blood work or any other tests here, they send you to lab corp to do that. So I waited over an hour for them to then tell me they don’t do those tests. Avoid!

This was my first visit here. The wait time was very quick and I was satisfied with that. All staff were nice. It seems they have a lot of specialties at this location which is incredibly convenient for referrals and follow up appointments. The PA I saw was kind and listened to me, even though our actual visit was incredibly short. I imagine we’ll have more time to talk once the results of my lab work and other appointments come back.

I’ve been to this office before and chose to ignore how terrible it was because of the convenience of proximity to my apartment. It’s so awful the nurse cut me off every time I tried to speak and she talked over me, they ran out of flu tests, and charged me more than they should have for my visit. Truly the most miserable experience especially if you’re sick.
