Christina Badaracco, RD, RDN, MPH

Dietitian
DC
I am a registered and licensed dietitian dedicated to improving access to healthy and sustainable food and educating Americans about the connections between food and health. I hold a Master's in Public Health from the University of California, Berkeley, and a Bachelor's degree from Princeton University. For many years, I have provided counseling and education in nutrition and culinary medicine to both individuals and groups. In my previous full-time role in healthcare consulting, I focused on healthcare transformation, quality improvement, and evidence generation-with a particular aim to elevate the role of nutrition services in healthcare. I serve on the board for Slow Food DC, as president of the DC Metro Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, and in other organizations. In past work, I have conducted surveys for The Lexicon and the Teaching Kitchen Collaborative, engaged in clinical nutrition research at the National Institutes of Health, managed menu planning and nutrition education at the Oakland Unified School District, and contributed to communications at the Environmental Protection Agency's Office of Water. I have also enjoyed supporting children's gardens, farmers' markets, and several organic farms. I write regular articles about nutrition for Soulful Insights and developed five cookbooks for the Transamerica Institute. Additionally, I have tested and evaluated recipes and nutritional analyses and written content for food delivery and meal kit companies. I love experimenting with healthy recipes and sharing my creations to inspire others to cook.
