About Dr. Christopher Scanlon
Christopher M. Scanlon, MD, MS, is a fellowship-trained orthopedic surgeon specializing in hip and knee replacement. He is skilled in hip resurfacing, primary and revision hip and knee joint replacement, and knee arthroscopy. Dr. Scanlon has expertise in the latest minimally invasive surgical approaches, including quad-sparing knee replacement and anterior approach hip replacement. His practice leverages advanced technologies like robotic surgery and computer-assisted navigation. He is trained in the latest evidence-based approaches to promote rapid recovery and pain reduction for his patients.
Dr. Scanlon attended the University of South Carolina, graduating with a BS in biomedical engineering. After receiving his MS degree in biomedical engineering from the University of Miami, he completed his MD degree at the Drexel University College of Medicine, in Philadelphia. Dr. Scanlon finished his orthopedic residency at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania and completed his fellowship training as part of the NYU Langone/ISK Adult Reconstruction Fellowship program.
Dr. Scanlon's research has focused on cartilage tissue engineering and other bioengineering topics. He has served as a reviewer for a number of academic journals, including Orthopaedic Surgery, Sports Health: A Multidisciplinary Approach, and the University of Pennsylvania Orthopaedic Journal. He is an active member of numerous professional organizations, including the American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons, the Arthroscopy Association of North America, the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, and the Biomedical Engineering Society. His participation in programs like the Wharton/Penn Ortho McNulty Leadership Program reflects his commitment to taking an active role as one of tomorrow's leaders in medicine.

It is always a pleasure visiting Dr. Scanlon's office. My husband accompanied me on this visit and he commented on how professional, friendly, and attentive the reception staff were to patients, in addition to the nice office. Also, Dr. Scanlon is wonderful, he explains everything to you about your illness, treatment options, and the strengths and challenges with them. I highly recommend Dr. Scanlon!!

Dr.Chris Scanlon is a great Doctor, was focused in helping me , getting through my knee pain . I saw him with recent X rays report of my knee conditions. Dr Scanlon explained the report for me , gave me Steroid injection in my painful R. knee . He said you have no more pain in 48 to 72 H..
I was surprised, I have no pain after several hour . I had a good night sleep for the first time in a long time.
Being a medical professional myself " retired MD" ... I can see that Dr Scanlon is a great human , very dedicated to help his patients and relieve their pain . I feel I was so lucky to be one of his patients. There are many Doctors that are serving people with the intent of providing the utmost care for any suffering human. I believe that Dr Scanlon would qualify to be on the top of this list. The office staff were great . My appointment was at 9
.15 am I was out and done in about an hour . Great place , friendly staff, and a wonderful Doctor. God bless this place .

Dr Scanlon was very kind, polite, and he listened. He answered my questions and gave me the time I needed to process his responses. The office is in a big medical complex and going in it seemed like it would be a little cold and impersonal, but the office staff and the doctor were all patient, warm, and human.
