About Dr. David Steiner

Dr. David Steiner, MD trained at Albert Einstein College of Medicine, Bronx, NY with a subsequent Fellowship at the acclaimed Mentefiore Headache Center and Pain Management.
Dr. Steiner is currently Chief of Neurology at Peninsula Hospital Center, Medical Director of their Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) Unit (one of only 5 in all of New York City) and is the Director of their Stroke Center that he founded. Dr. Steiner is head of the local Parkinson’s Chapter and has widely lectured on topics of headache, pain management, stroke and general neurology in addition to speaking for the local epilepsy society.
Dr. Steiner has worked on several pivotal migraine trials within residency, fellowship and practice and is a frequent lecturer for many Pharmaceutical companies including Pfizer, GlaxoSmithKline, and OrthoMcNeil. He has worked on stroke trials and epidemiological studies regarding medical versus surgical management for Spinal Epidural Abscess.

I waited about an hour to be seen and the Dr rushed in for a few minutes I explained 2 of 4 problems to him and then he rushed out and I was totally confused so I asked if he was coming back and he no, that we were done. I asked him to get the Dr back in. When the Dr. came in he was confused. When I explained the other problems, he said, "You didn't tell me that! " I replied, "Well you walked out! How could I !!" This was the worst experience I've ever had with a Dr.

Do not go here.
The office never answers the phone, they do not check their voicemail or return calls. It took 26 calls to get someone on the phone. I've been struggling to get them to send records to my insurance company for authorization.
When I finally go ahold of her she told me she had already sent them, when I asked when that was she said that she 'was going to do it'. My insurance company has no records of this. They can't even get the office on the phone for me now.
I can't get the tests they ordered, I'm at a loss. It's been a headache this entire time. I can't imagine dealing with this nightmare while critically ill.
waits are long. They do not release results without a long wait for a follow up. Dr. Steiner doesn't seem particularly attentive or considerate of your time.

Dr Steiner had me waiting almost 2 hrs. Then when he finally walked in room he started texting while I was explaining my problems and actually made a 10 minute phone call. Didn’t seem to listen and talked over me.

The office staff was amazing I have no reason to complain.... this place is worth going just check in advance to ensure they take your insurance. My visit was awesome it was well worth driving 1 hour from bronx co op city. Thank you all @ 923 Broadway woodmere

The doctor made an extra effort to get all of my tests done the same day and was a great listener. He made me feel at ease and provided great medical advice. The staff was very friendly and professional, making an otherwise stressful process easier and more manageable. Everyone from the reception staff to the person who did my intake to the technicians who performed my tests were excellent.

The purpose of this office visit on 11/12/25 was to review test results including a brain MRI taken on 9/22/25. After waiting over 2 hrs. to be seen, my wife and I were informed that the MRI results were not available with no reason given. Dr. Steiner never discussed anything with my wife. This is totally unacceptable, especially in light of the fact that we were informed countless number of times about the visit, which was confirmed earlier, and although we were there as scheduled, unfortunately the Doctor and his staff were not. Also had these type of issues at previous office visits.

The staff member were very friendly, knowledgeable and willing to help. Dr. Stein listened to my problems and took all the time to ask me questions. At first, my insurance did not approve the MRI test but after a phone call, it was approved and I was able to get it done along with the ultrasound that I needed all in the same day. I really appreciate their hard work. Thank you all.

Customer service is horrible. Long wait times in the office and on the phone. After waiting 10+ minutes on hold, someone answers and, without saying "hello," automatically hangs up repeatedly. waited over 2 hours to see this doctor and when the doctor came in, he didnt even do a physical examination. He seemed like he wasnt interested.

Dr. David Steiner was awesome! He made feel so welcomed, like an old patient that he hasn't seen in a long time. He is very personable, warm and friendly! To my surprise... He took his "Sweet" time with me, totally unexpected by today's doctor's visits standards.
He showed and demonstrated concern and care about my situation and health issues; Made me feel at ease; Answered all my questions; Referred me to specialists to help with treatment options; Performed a variety of tests right there at the same location.
I am very happy I found Dr. Steiner and I highly recommend him to anyone in need of a great neurologist. You will not be disappointed!!
