About Emily Velasquez

Emily Velasquez PA-C graduated from Towson University's Master's in Physician Assistant Studies program in August 2022. She also earned her Bachelor's degree in Exercise Science from the same university in 2018, graduating Summa Cum Laude. Prior to becoming a PA, she worked as a physical therapy tech for 2 years. Emily has experience working as a surgical PA specializing primarily in orthopedics and general surgery, and she is now focused on working with patients to optimize their health in a holistic manner through primary care.
Emily is a first-generation college student who grew up in a Honduran household with her parents and siblings. She is fluent in both Spanish and English and is enthusiastic about providing care to the Hispanic population. In her free time, she enjoys baking, trying new local restaurants, traveling, and spending time with family and friends.

I've been in need of a new PCP for awhile, and am glad I booked with Emily. She's a great doctor who listens well and is very respectful (doesn't talk down like some doctors or seem rushed). While the office staff wasn't super friendly, they weren't super rude either. I think if you're nice to them, they'll probably be nice to you. I also really liked the woman who took my blood. She was very friendly and made me feel comfortable, and did great work. I have tiny veins and she was able to find them quickly!

Emily was very personable and knowledgeable. I’ve been avoiding seeing a PCP for a few years now as I haven’t been able to find one that I’ve liked. Emily was recommended to me by a friend and I would recommend her to a friend as well. She listened to my worries and gave great feedback. She is very easy to talk to and didn’t rush the appointment.

Tried to get an appointment with my current primary care physician and was unable to get in. Looked on ZocDoc and found First Medical Associates with an opening with Emily Velasquez within two days. So thankful I decided to search for another option. The practice was very professional and clean. They are a one stop practice in that they were able to draw blood and provide me with a diagnosis and prescribe the medication required for my symptoms. PA Velasquez was extremely knowledgeable, thoughtful, and caring. I can't compliment her enough for her attention to detail and thoroughness.

Efficient and helpful provider. Everything was taken care of - they even do the labs/urinalysis in their office, which is great! One-stop-shop for your primary care. The only negatives were that many people were coughing/sneezing while waiting in the waiting room; staff should ensure sick patients wear masks (there are masks available, but no one prompted patients to use them).
