Hi there, I'm Erin!
My name is Erin Thompson. I am a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner in Ohio treating ages from 6 through adulthood.
My approach
My approach to providing mental healthcare is to provide medication based on the needs of the patient. I encourage the patient to be open and honest with how they are feeling and what they are going through so I can help with providing medication if necessary.
My focus
My focus varies from anxiety, depression, bipolar, schizophrenia, schizoaffective disorders, ADHD, PTSD, Autism and Binge eating
My communication style
I encourage honesty and I am open to being a team in the treatment plan. I don't push medication on people, so we work together to see what the best fit for treatment is.
My journey to mental healthcare
I started as a Family Nurse Practitioner almost 10 years ago. I noticed when I was treating patients with mental health concerns, there was always a long wait to get into psychiatry. I wanted to be able to help patients as soon as possible so I decided to go back to school to specialize in psychiatry. This job is so rewarding to know you are able to help people feel better and live their lives to the fullest.
My goals for you
My goal is to help you feel better. Medication can have an impact on that, so mood is reassessed regularly at each visit. It is important to get you to a better place as soon as possible.
My first session with you
Patients should expect a full assessment of past and present feelings and experiences. It is important to know what you have been through to help determine why and how you are feeling the way you are in the present time.
