What is your typical process for working with clients?
As a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner, my goal is to create a safe, compassionate space where you feel heard, understood, and empowered. Whether you're seeking support for anxiety, depression, trauma, ADHD, or other mental health concerns, we’ll work together to create a treatment plan that meets your specific needs.
?? Initial Appointment (60 minutes)
Your first session is a comprehensive psychiatric evaluation. During this time, we will:
Review your medical and mental health history
Discuss current symptoms, challenges, and goals
Explore your past treatment experiences (including medications or therapy)
Evaluate any risk factors, family history, and social or lifestyle impacts
Determine whether a diagnosis is appropriate
Collaboratively develop an individualized care plan
If needed, I may start or adjust medication at the first appointment, and I’ll explain all treatment options, including benefits, potential side effects, and alternatives. I always ensure you feel informed and comfortable with any decisions made.
?? Medication Management Follow-Ups (20–30 minutes)
These visits allow us to:
Monitor your response to medication
Make adjustments if needed
Address any side effects or new symptoms
Discuss your progress and challenges since the last session
Continue building insight into triggers, habits, and resilience strategies
?? Talk Therapy (optional, 30–45 minutes)
I offer supportive talk therapy alongside medication management. Depending on your needs, this may include:
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) strategies
Psychoeducation and skill-building
Stress reduction and grounding techniques
Support around grief, trauma, or relationship issues
Motivational work and lifestyle planning
