About Dr. Heather Demos

Heather Demos, O.D., earned her Doctor of Optometry and Bachelor of Science in Visual Science from the Illinois College of Optometry in 1999. She also holds a Bachelor of Science in Zoology from The Ohio State University. For over 20 years, Dr. Demos has been actively involved in many aspects of optometry and local communities. She is a member of both the Ohio Optometric Association and the American Optometric Association. Additionally, Dr. Demos serves as an industry consultant, is part of the Ohio State-affiliated faculty as a clinical instructor, and was a past president of the Ohio State Alumni Club. She is also a longtime board member and incoming president of the Huron Chamber of Commerce. Dr. Demos currently resides in Huron, Ohio, with her husband, their two sons, two spoiled dogs, and a tortoise. Outside the office, she and her family enjoy golf, football, boating, music, and other outdoor activities. They are all devoted sports fans of The Ohio State University Buckeyes and Cleveland-area teams.

This doctor gave a very comprehensive exam, including a consideration of my overall health history. She was able to detect and fix underlying vision issues that had been contributing to persisting blurriness despite having the correct prescription already. She explained things in a very clear way, but didn’t talk down to the patient at all. Her office staff were all very, very friendly and helpful as well. I would definitely recommend her to friends and family and I’ve already done so.

The check-in receptionist and staff are much nicer than before, I was checked in previously with a woman that was always quite rude to me, but not this time, apparently they’re from the Sandusky OH office and work in Huron office as well, they were all kind, patient and attentive, I was expecting turmoil but instead got pleasantly surprised. Dr Demos, her assistant were wonderful.

It was easy to make the appointment, and when I arrived everything went smoothly. Not sure if it was Dr. Demos or her equipment, but it was the easiest time I've ever had zeroing on my prescription. I think most people don't like that part of the exam, but it was very easy for me to get to my new numbers for my prescription. Dr. Demos was great to work with!
