About Dr. Joanna Dong
Joanna Dong, MD is a double board-certified dermatologist and fellowship-trained Mohs micrographic surgeon. Dr. Dong provides general, surgical, and cosmetic dermatologic care to patients at offices in Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, and Long Island.
Dr. Dong’s practice philosophy is providing empathetic, patient-centered care using the best available surgical, reconstructive, and cosmetic techniques to achieve the highest cure rates and aesthetic outcomes. As a cosmetic and laser surgeon, she has expertise in non-invasive and surgical techniques to achieve natural-looking and effective results, including injectables (neurotoxin, biostimulator, filler, and fat transfer), body contouring, laser resurfacing, and facial rejuvenation surgery. Dr. Dong also enjoys providing general dermatologic care, including skin cancer screening, hair loss management, acne treatment, and skin rash diagnosis.
Dr. Dong graduated summa cum laude from Cornell University with a degree in Biological Sciences. She earned her medical doctorate at Mount Sinai School of Medicine, where she conducted novel epigenetic research in melanoma and received clinical and research honors as one of the top students in her class. She completed her dermatology residency at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine, followed by advanced fellowship training in Mohs micrographic surgery, reconstructive surgery, and cosmetic dermatology with the internationally renowned Dr. C. William Hanke at the Laser and Skin Surgery Center of Indiana. Dr. Dong has authored numerous peer-reviewed publications and textbook chapters in the fields of skin cancer, reconstructive surgery, and cosmetics, and is a frequent invited lecturer at national conferences. She has been recognized with several prestigious research grants and awards, including the Howard Hughes Medical Institute Research Grant.

Dr. Joanna Dong and her office staff were great. I moved to the neighborhood and needed a new dermatologist and a medication refill so I hoped the visit would be straightforward.
I arrived 30 minutes early and figured I'd be waiting that long. I was stunned when after 10 minutes I was called in and seen. I ended up heading home before my appointment time which was much appreciated.
The doctor was great and I will definitely return as needed.
