Dr. Johanese Sandy, DNP, PMHNP-BC, FNP-C, is a family and psychiatric mental health provider at Comprehensive Healthcare & Wellness Services. Johanese is happy to help patients in Maryland, Virginia, and the District of Columbia with their mental health needs.

He holds certification from the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners Certification Board and the American Nurses Credentialing Center. In addition, he is a member of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners and the Maryland Academy of Advanced Practice Clinicians.
Johanese earned his Doctor of Nursing Practice degree from Walden University. He also holds a Master's in Nursing from Liberty University, a Bachelor's degree from Chamberlain University, and an Associate's degree from Global Health College.
Johanese has dedicated over 23 years of his professional life working in primary care, critical care, and psychiatric mental health nursing. Many patients work with Johanese because of his compassionate nature, wealth of experience, and patience with their health concerns. He strives to make a lasting difference in each of his patients' lives, giving them the resources they need to be the best versions of themselves.

Listening is a strong form of communication. Listening to a client and addressing their concerns is my priority.
What is your typical process for working with clients?
A typical visit starts by actively listening to the symptoms reported, initial experience with these symptoms, severity and the overall impact they have on a client's life including their families and those around them. Ensure a diagnosis based on DSM-5 criteria for diagnosis, then together with the patient, a treatment plan is tailored to meet their individual needs.

I found myself always having to go back and forth with this doctor about my schedule and my time just to get a early morning appointment. I continuously was going days without my medication because of this doctor not listening or understanding my pharmacy hours. I never got my refills on time or in a timely manner. If you want to wait for your medication refill through the weekend and you don’t mind arguing with your doctor and having to explain everything numerous times than this is the perfect doctor for you.
