About Dr. John Troccoli
Dr. Troccoli was born in Los Angeles, California, and attended Hollywood High School, where he graduated with honors. He is the elder of two brothers and the first in his immediate family to attend college. He attended Yale University in New Haven, Connecticut, where he graduated summa cum laude with distinction in psychobiology. He earned his Doctor of Medicine degree from Harvard University in Boston, where he was awarded a student research scholarship and dedicated an additional year of studies to Photomedicine. Photomedicine is a recently developed area of study focusing on the effects of electromagnetic radiation-such as ultraviolet, visible, and infrared light-mediated through the skin. He conducted pioneering research in the development of multiple-pulsed laser technology and was awarded a Residency Research Award by the American Society of Laser Medicine and Surgery.
Dr. Troccoli remained in the Boston area for his postgraduate training, completing an internship in Internal Medicine at Boston City Hospital and a residency in Dermatology through the Harvard University program. He has given presentations and collaborated on publications in the field of dermatological laser surgery. Dr. Troccoli is board certified in dermatology and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology. Since 1997, he has worked as an associate at Advanced Dermatology and the Center for Laser and Cosmetic Surgery. Dr. Troccoli has traveled extensively throughout the world and is fluent in Spanish.

Doctor was fine. Office was horrible. I was 15 minutes early for my appointment and was met by a crowd of people who had been waiting for hours. I was brought back after an hour of waiting, where I got to sit and wait for another hour. I don’t know if the office was having a bad day, but it wasn’t worth my 5 minute checkup.

That was my second and last visit to see Dr. Trocolli. It was ok the first time three years ago, but today was simply awful! First I had to wait for more than an hour while he was seeing other patients, the office staff was assuring me that he’ll see me in a minute, I’m next, he is finishing with the patient, etc and finally my turn! I don’t think that he was with me for more than 3 minutes, I was rushed like never before, whatever I asked him to look at it was all cosmetic that would cost me $$$, although two small things he removed, but I was not even offered to change my cloth, he did not check me as docs usually do, and the most important he did not even clean or wash his hands between patients. Disgusting! Never ever again!

It was fine nothing extraordinary or poor. The office staff was nice and they booked my follow up quickly. They had no issues with getting my information. The examination rooms were small. I felt like one of my issues wasn’t gone through as in depth as a previous provider. But it could be that I need more time to see how it progresses. It was a solid experience.

I was really grateful to find this place. I was laid off a few months ago and went on a managed medicaid plan, and it's tough to find private practices that accept medicaid in Manhattan. The receptionists were all very lovely to me and the nurse, Janae, was a standout. She made me feel very comfortable and did my intake with attention to detail and warmth. The doctor himself was good, not as stellar bedside manner as Janae but was knowledgable. Overall, would certainly recommend this practice!
