About Dr. Julio H Urena

Dr. Julio Urena attended the Universidad Autónoma de Santo Domingo Facultad de Ciencias de la Salud in the Dominican Republic in 1976. He completed his residency at Bronx Lebanon Hospital, Bronx, NY, from 1989 to 1992, followed by a fellowship in Pulmonary Medicine from 1992 to 1993. Dr. Urena is currently board eligible. Over the years, he has served as a primary investigator in pharmaceutical diabetic trials. His special interests include managing type II diabetes mellitus, pulmonary diseases, and hypertension to prevent or delay complications, as well as addressing the challenges of weight reduction in overweight and obese patients. Dr. Urena is also trained in Botulinum Toxin and dermal filler treatments. Regarding patient care, Dr. Urena’s philosophy is, “Get to the patient’s level and use the time to listen to their problems in order to provide the most effective solutions.” He currently practices at our Internal Medicine office in Clifton, NJ.
