About Dr. Kevin Yu
Kevin K. Yu, MD, MS, is a fellowship-trained gastroenterologist who attended St. Louis University School of Medicine in St. Louis, Missouri, graduating with his medical degree in 2018. He relocated to Texas, completing his internship and Internal Medicine residency at McGovern Medical School at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston (UTHealth) in 2021. Dr. Yu remained at UTHealth to complete a fellowship in Gastroenterology, Hepatology, and Nutrition in 2025. He joined Kelsey-Seybold in August 2025.
Dr. Yu practices medicine to make a positive difference in other people’s lives, providing compassionate, empathetic care for gastrointestinal complaints, no matter how large or small. In addition to providing colon cancer prevention and endoscopy services, he specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of a wide range of conditions, including inflammatory bowel disease, gastric reflux, eosinophilic esophagitis, gastrointestinal motility issues, pancreas conditions, and more. In his practice, Dr. Yu most enjoys helping to prevent cancers and helping patients regain control of their lives.
Philosophy of Care
Dr. Yu begins by listening and approaching his patients with patience and understanding, always keeping in mind that every person and their GI symptoms are different so that he can tailor his treatments to his patients’ individual needs. Patients come to him seeking help, and Dr. Yu knows it is his duty to listen and guide them through some of the most vulnerable times in their lives.
Hobbies & Interests
When Dr. Yu and his wife are not exploring the Houston food scene, playing badminton or pickleball, or hanging out with their friends and/or cats, they love to travel and explore new places and experiences. “The world is so vast, and we are meant to explore and live in it!” he says.
