Getting to know Dr. Mary Asiedu

Dr. Mary Asiedu, DNP, PMHNP, is a board-certified psychiatric nurse practitioner who offers flexible, concierge mental health care for those seeking personalized, holistic treatment. Trained at NYU, she provides care for depression, anxiety, ADHD, and lifestyle-related stress, tailoring each plan to support lasting wellness and balance "Sometimes when we don’t talk about the big things, they grow shadows. Let’s turn on a light together."

What should a new client know about working with you?

Working with me means receiving care that is personalized, compassionate, and collaborative from the start. During our intake, I take time to understand your goals, background, and what’s most important to you — not just your symptoms. Together, we create a care plan that reflects your needs, whether that includes lifestyle changes, medication, or supportive check-ins. Progress often looks like gaining clarity, emotional strength, and a sense of control. I work best with adults and professionals who are motivated to invest in their mental well-being and are seeking thoughtful, personalized care that’s flexible, collaborative, and holistic. I work with ages 17 and older

What is your typical process for working with clients?

My approach is collaborative, patient-centered, and grounded in both clinical expertise and genuine human connection. During our initial session, I conduct a comprehensive psychiatric evaluation. This includes exploring your current concerns, mental health history, medical background, social environment, and any relevant family history. I take time to understand your unique experiences and values so we can develop a personalized treatment plan that aligns with your goals. Depending on your needs, treatment may include medication management, supportive talk therapy, lifestyle recommendations, and collaboration with your therapist or primary care provider. I often incorporate psychoeducation to help clients understand their symptoms, build insight, and feel empowered in their treatment decisions. Follow-up sessions typically focus on monitoring symptoms, adjusting medication if needed, and discussing coping strategies. I also provide space for supportive dialogue—whether that’s unpacking daily stressors, navigating transitions, or learning how to manage anxiety, depression, trauma, or ADHD. My goal is to create a safe and nonjudgmental space where you feel seen, heard, and supported. Healing is not one-size-fits-all, and together we will figure out what works best for you.
