“I was disappointed with my Dr. visit I felt like she didn’t take the time to truly listen to my concerns and seemed dismissive of the issues I was experiencing. Instead of offering helpful guidance or solutions, the appointment felt rushed, and I left feeling unheard and frustrated. As a patient, I expect a doctor to be considerate, thorough, and willing to explore options for care, but unfortunately, that wasn’t my experience. I hope she takes patient
concerns more seriously in the future.”

About Dr. Melissa Yadao
Melissa Yadao is a caring and patient orthopedic surgeon and sports medicine specialist serving her patients in Woodbridge, Lorton, and Alexandria, VA. Dr. Yadao is certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery. She is a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, the Medical Society of Virginia, the American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine, and the Virginia Orthopaedic Society.
Dr. Yadao is currently a part of MedStar Orthopaedic Institute. Her practice specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of sports injuries but also includes general orthopedics. Her surgical expertise is reconstructive and arthroscopic (minimally-invasive) procedures of the shoulder, knee, elbow and hip. Dr. Yadao welcomes patients to her practice who are experiencing herniated disks, ligament sprains, and arthritis, among others.
Dr. Yadao earned her medical degree from the Medical College of Virginia. She then completed her residency at the same university. Later, she completed her fellowship in sports medicine at the Mississippi Sports Medicine and Orthopaedic Center.
Dr. Yadao has participated in a variety of research and publication opportunities, including Osteochondritis Dessicans of the Elbow and “Normal Clinical Parameters in Successful ACL Reconstruction,” among others. In her spare time, Dr. Yadao enjoys traveling, playing tennis and gold, art, and cooking.
