I had a really bad experience with Nerlande Celestin and wouldn’t recommend her to anyone. She was cold and dismissive, which made it hard to open up. She came across as judgmental, which is the last thing you want from a psychiatrist. Most concerning was she didn’t inform me about interactions with my current meds. She seemed more focused on pushing toxic positivity than actually addressing my concerns. Any time I brought up struggles, she would minimize my concerns and tell me to just "turn off the news". The most unprofessional part was her bringing up her personal religious beliefs—even after I told her I had a history of religious trauma. That was completely inappropriate and made me really uncomfortable. I switched to a different psychiatrist through Soho MD, and the difference has been night and day. I finally feel heard, properly cared for - and most importantly - SAFE. If you’re looking for a psych who actually listens and provides responsible, ethical care, LOOK ELSEWHERE.

Just as expected. Profesional and appropriate.

I felt dismissed, misunderstood and judged for my answers. I was surprised at how rude this provider was. Maybe I caught her on a bad day but it was one of the most negative experiences I’ve had with a mental health professional.

They did not post accurate availability on ZocDoc, the office was not aware of my appointment then told me to join virtual where I waited for over 40 minutes before I was told the provider would not join because of an emergency. A different provider was offered, I initially asked if they were familiar with my appointment details and I expressed that I wanted to restart a medication plan that day. After combative interactions the provided said it would be WEEKS before I could start a medication plan but wanted to start talk therapy treatments in their opinion. The call disconnected before the end of the appointment, it did not reconnect. The provider tried to do things I did not consent to by providing treatment I was not seeking and they charged my credit card for this incomplete inappropriate experience. It seems reasonable that someone that is already vulnerable is further harmed by a business that conducts themselves in this way. Given the service they provide, they had a duty.

This was a truly transformative appointment for me. I never have had good luck on telemedicine services in the past. My appointment today with Nerlande changed that. Couldn’t be happier about the match-up and quickly scheduled follow up. Truly a great experience.

The doctor gave me attitude and judge me like a drug addicted (but it’s literally not the case) the “consult” was 5 minutes and I refuse to pay for it.
