“I've done virtual meetings. We only had a few issues and I'm guessing it was me. I make things difficult so of course we didn't have my audio for the first 10 minutes but we kept trying and succes! Don't have a clue as to how or why audio started working for maybe 15 min and just as fast as we had audio I lost it...? Don't understand but we tried from scratch again and just totally new call and everything worked well had good while and I think a productive interview. ”

Getting to know Dr. Olajumoke Akinyele

When I think about the most fulfilling aspect of my career, I would have to dedicate that title to receiving positive feedback and success stories from my patients. Knowing that my expertise made a positive impact on their life is, by far, the best part of what I do as a mental healthcare provider. Backed by extensive training as a board-certified Nurse Practitioner, Doctor of Nursing Practice, Family Nurse Practitioner, and Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner, it is my lifelong passion to help others achieve mental wellness and stability. By pinpointing any existing mental, emotional, or behavioral disorders and any co-occurring medical conditions, I am advanced in creating customized plans of action to ensure each patient receives the psychotherapy, coaching, and medications needed to reach maximum mental wellbeing. Committed to ensuring each patient receives the level of support needed to begin feeling like themselves again, I am adamant about providing each patient the differentiated care they deserve. When I am away from the office, I enjoy spending time with my family and even relaxing by reading or exercising. Even when I am not working, I am constantly researching the mental health industry to stay updated on today's best practices. As those in our society who seek mental health assistance often face scrutiny, I consider it my ongoing mission to advocate for mental healthcare and to play a part in reducing that negative stigma. Dr. Ola received her doctorate of nursing from Brandman University in California with a focus on mental health. Before this, she obtained her first master's degree and was certified as a family nurse practitioner. She has worked as a nurse in multiple areas of healthcare and mental health-focused settings. She is highly experienced and treats from mild to acute psychiatric diagnoses. Dr. Ola has worked as a psychiatric provider in both inpatient and outpatient settings with a focus in Adult and geriatric mental health.

Dr Ola Helped me and treat me very well. Highly Recommended
Dr. Akinyele listened and reinforced what I said for care.
This provider initiated medication without taking the time to fully understand my needs or provide adequate explanation. Although I followed through with the prescribed changes, I was met with dismissiveness when I asked questions about my treatment. When I inquired about the reasoning behind changes to my medication regimen, I was told, “Am I supposed to educate you on brain chemistry?” and was directed to look things up online. The provider even stated, “My job is not to educate.” I don’t believe it’s unreasonable for a patient to seek clarity about their care, especially regarding medications, their purpose, and expected outcomes. If you are looking for a collaborative approach, thoughtful communication, and guidance from a provider who respects patient involvement, I would not recommend this one.

DO NOT GO IF YOU NEED IMMEDIATE HELP! I didn't feel heard with this provider. Even though I explained my past experience which made me apprehensive about trying new medications, she tried pushing me for a new medication. I explained my medical history and instead of doing tests during the session like other providers do, she asked me to do tests (gene testing & Creyos ADHD test) with her partner companies after the session- which would have been extra since she wasn't sure if insurance would cover it. One of her sentences started with "I'm not saying I don't believe you BUT..." and then she continued on to essentially explain that she didn't believe me. I was so upset after the session, I'm so glad I made an appointment with another provider right away and they actually tested me and listened to me.

Once you get through all of the hurdles of signing up and dealing with the numerous emails they send you, it all works smoothly -- I think, I'm not entirely through the process yet. I got a few confusing emails at first telling me the wrong time zone for the appointment, also telling me the appointment was in person and not online etc. No online link, confusion about the payment. But hopefully I'll get through all of that soon and can just interact with my provider.
