My goal is to help you feel better and return to a more meaningful life.
I am a dedicated and caring psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner who helps patients regain their mental well-being while also serving as a teacher to educate them about their health. I strongly believe that successful treatment fundamentally relies on our joining together in the pursuit of your health and wellness.
I hold a Master’s degree in Psychiatric and Mental Health Nursing from Walden University and a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Texas at Arlington. I have expertise in psychiatric evaluation, diagnosis, medication management, and supportive psychotherapy. Throughout my career, I have cared for people with mood disorders, opioid use disorder (OUD), alcohol use disorder (AUD), depression, schizophrenia, anxiety, PTSD, and ADHD. My therapeutic approach is evidence-based, holistic, and patient-centered. My goal is to help clients feel confident about using both psychotherapy and psychotherapeutic interventions as part of their treatment.

I offer psychopharmacology and support on lifestyle modifications that can significantly improve your life and well-being.
What is your typical process for working with clients?
First Visit (Initial Evaluation):
Your first session is usually longer (often 60–90 minutes). During this time, I’ll ask questions to better understand your history, current concerns, and goals. This includes:
Medical and Psychiatric History: We’ll review past diagnoses, treatments, medications, hospitalizations, and any medical conditions.
Current Symptoms: You’ll be asked about your mood, sleep, appetite, energy, focus, relationships, and stressors.
Lifestyle and Social Factors: Things like work, school, family, and habits (such as alcohol, caffeine, or substance use) may be discussed.
Diagnostic Process: Based on your responses, I’ll use evidence-based criteria to develop a working diagnosis and treatment plan.
Follow-Up Sessions:
These are usually shorter (30 minutes). We will
Review how you’re responding to treatment or medications.
Discuss any side effects, challenges, or progress.
Adjust the treatment plan if needed.
Provide education about mental health and coping strategies.
Talk Therapy:
I integrate therapy into sessions (such as supportive counseling, cognitive-behavioral strategies, or motivational interviewing).
Patient Involvement:
You’re always encouraged to ask questions, share feedback, and participate in decisions about your care. The goal is to create a safe, supportive environment where you feel heard and empowered.

These providers need to specify in their description that they cannot fill medication. I have been taking the same medication for years now. I recently moved to the area to establish myself with someone new. We did our video call and then she abruptly ended the call. I got a call back later and was told that the doctor who prescribes medication denied my request. No clue as to even why. Now i have to wait a full month to speak with someone new. Complete waste of time and was not given any reason why my prescription was denied.?

I had a very unprofessional experience with this provider. During my scheduled appointment, she told me she needed to verify something and would call me back shortly. However, she never called back, and she ignored all my messages and calls. I was charged for the appointment, but I received no help or follow-up at all.
To make things worse, at the end of the call she added another patient to my video session while I was still connected. This was extremely inappropriate and violates basic privacy and confidentiality protocols.
Overall, it was a disappointing and unprofessional experience, and I would not recommend this provider based on what happened.

After my prior psychiatrist abruptly retired, I decided to make an appointment with Dr. Peggy. I was spoke to like a robot for about 15 minutes until I was told she’d have to find out if she could prescribe a refill of the same medication I’ve been on for 8 years. Never heard from her again, never offered any guidance, and never got my prescription refilled resulting in a withdrawal and hospitalization under her “care”. The best part is the audacity to send me a bill after all this?

I was being seen for assistance with psych meds, had a follow up scheduled from my last appointment but I can never see it booked so I booked in another appointment just for her to tell me she is unable to refill one of my prescriptions due to needing another Dr to call it in who isn't able to and she's trying to get it figured out... I can understand all of that completely... what I don't understand is not reaching out and communicating so I'm not scrambling to find a new psych dr in 2 days before I run out... seems very negligent
