What should a new client know about working with you?

As a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, my approach to care is collaborative, compassionate, and patient centered. I believe every individual’s story is unique, and I strive to create a safe, respectful, and non-judgmental space where you can openly share your concerns. My goal is to understand your needs, experiences, and goals so we can work together to develop a personalized treatment plan that supports your mental and emotional well-being. I prioritize clear communication, evidence-based practice, and shared decision-making. You can expect me to listen actively, explain treatment options thoroughly, and involve you in all decisions about your care. Whether we are working on medication management, therapy-focused strategies, or lifestyle adjustments, I aim to support you in a way that feels empowering, transparent, and tailored to you. Above all, I want you to feel heard, supported, and respected throughout your treatment journey. Our work together is a partnership, and I am committed to helping you achieve meaningful, lasting progress.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

My process is structured, collaborative, and personalized to each client’s needs and I do practice talk therapy. Here’s what you can expect when working with me: Initial Assessment: We begin with a comprehensive evaluation to understand your current concerns, medical and psychiatric history, lifestyle factors, and goals for treatment. This helps me develop a complete picture of your needs. Diagnosis & Treatment Planning: After the assessment, we discuss your symptoms and any potential diagnoses. Together, we create a tailored treatment plan that may include medication management, supportive therapy, lifestyle recommendations, or referrals for additional services when needed. Education & Shared Decision-Making: I believe clients make the best choices when they’re well-informed. I explain treatment options clearly, including benefits, risks, and alternatives, so you can confidently participate in decisions about your care. Medication Management & Follow-Up: If medication is part of your plan, we will follow up regularly to monitor your response, adjust dosages if needed, address side effects, and ensure the plan continues to meet your goals. Ongoing Support: Mental health care is a journey. I provide a supportive, non-judgmental environment where you can express concerns freely. As your needs change, your treatment plan can be adjusted to help you continue making progress. Collaboration With Other Providers (when appropriate): With your consent, I can collaborate with your primary care provider, therapist, or other specialists to ensure coordinated and comprehensive care.
