About Dr. Po Cheng Chu
Po Cheng Chu, MD, is a board certified Gastroenterologist and Hepatologist. He received his degree in medicine from the National Taiwan University College of Medicine. He completed both his residency in internal medicine and fellowship in gastroenterology at Maimonides Medical Center with an Outstanding Resident Teaching Award and Resident of the Month Award. Additionally, Dr. Chu had hepatology training at NYU. He has participated and presented researches at national conferences and published numerous peer-reviewed research articles. Dr. Chu is a member of Gastroenterology attending staff at Maimonides Medical Center.
Dr. Chu is dedicated to the treatment and need of his patients. He uses a holistic approach to medicine that takes into consideration each individual's unique situation and adapts his consultations and treatments appropriately. He serves the ethnically diverse communities of Brooklyn and Queens. He is multilingual in English and Chinese dialects (Mandarin, Cantonese, and Hakka).
Dr. Chu specializes in the treatment of various pancreatic, liver, upper and lower GI conditions. Screening colonoscopy and routine endoscopy procedures are performed in the office with state of the art technology. He also performs advanced GI procedures such as ERCP, Video Capsule Endoscopy, Endoscopic Ultrasound, and Small Bowel Enteroscopy.
Dr. Chu is a member of American College of Gastroenterology (ACG), American Gastroenterological Association (AGA), American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (ASGE), American Association for the Study of Liver Disease (AASLD), New York Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (NYSGE), and American Medical Association (AMA).
