About Dr. Richard Crane

Dr. Richard Crane is a primary care physician specializing in internal medicine and rheumatology, dedicated to providing outstanding healthcare to men and women of all ages-addressing their medical needs at every stage of life. He has been practicing internal medicine and rheumatology in Manhattan since 1986 and is board certified in both fields.
Dr. Crane graduated from the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai with a Doctor of Medicine degree in 1981. He completed his internal medicine residency at The Mount Sinai Hospital in 1984 and his rheumatology fellowship there in 1986. He remains affiliated with the Mount Sinai Medical Center and Healthcare Systems, where he is involved with the rheumatology fellowship program. His practice is located on the Upper East Side, where he sees patients five days a week. Laboratory testing, x-rays, and bone density scans are all performed in the office by his excellent staff.
Dr. Crane has been recognized by Castle Connolly as one of New York City/Metro Area's Top Doctors from 2001 through the present.
He is committed to providing primary care and preventive medicine to his patients. Dr. Crane treats a wide variety of conditions, including preventive healthcare, immunizations, hypertension, hypercholesterolemia, musculoskeletal disorders such as back pain, shoulder pain, tennis elbow, bursitis, fibromyalgia, osteoporosis, as well as colds, flu, and other common illnesses.
Dr. Crane enjoys developing long-term relationships with his patients, getting to know them and their families, and often cares for many generations within the same family.
