About Dr. Robert Sikora
Dr. Sikora is a board certified allergist who has been practicing in Virginia for over 15 years. He founded the Virginia Center for Allergy and Asthma in 2004, which offers state of the art testing procedures and therapies for the complete spectrum of allergic disorders. He completed medical school in 1994 at Chicago Medical School. Dr. Sikora then completed residency in internal medicine at Northwestern University in 1997, followed by fellowship in Allergy and Immunology, also at Northwestern University. He was elected Chief Fellow of the allergy division at Northwestern University and also won the Illinois State Allergy Society Award for excellence in research for his paper on occupational asthma. Since moving to Virginia after fellowship, Dr. Sikora has been invited to speak at many physician meetings and has been on the speakers' boards of several pharmaceutical companies, providing expert advice on a variety of allergic topics. He is a fellow of both the American Academy of Allergy and Immunology as well as the American College of Allergy and Immunology, the two most prestigious allergy societies in the country. He and his staff provide caring and comprehensive counseling for both children and adults with allergies and asthma and the staff at both offices are always willing to go the extra mile for patients. We take pride that we have helped over 12000 patients and growing over these past years find relief from their allergies and look forward to continuing doing so for years to come. Dr. Sikora's interests outside of the office include travel and photography and many of his photos can be found on the walls of his office. He also runs a dog rescue, with his wife, Dr. Barbara Newberg in the Washington DC area and has rescued over 5000 dogs so far.
