This was my second time seeing Dr. Cigna (first time was at the Center for Vulvovaginal Disorders). Before seeing her the first time, I had had chronic vulvar irritation for 7 months and seen 10 other obgyns, many of whom brushed off my symptoms or misdiagnosed me with a yeast infection or mycoplasma/ureaplasma despite cultures coming back negative. Dr. Cigna spends as much time with you as she can, asks you questions to really understand the problem, and explains her recommendations thoroughly. She listens, is very empathetic and patient-centered, is professional, sweet, and funny. Of the many obgyns I’ve seen, she’s the best and I’d highly recommend her, especially to any who have chronic or hard to diagnose issues!
Dr. Cigna was incredibly easy to be around and was very helpful. She was full of answers and was able to direct me to more resources as well. There was a fairly long wait, but once I was seen, the procedures were quick and easy.

I learned a lot more about my condition and no other on-gyn has been able to answer some questions. Dr. Barry was very helpful too!
Dr. Cigna was professional, informative, and very easy to talk to. She really took the time to get to know me and truly listened to my concerns. She explained everything she told me very thoroughly which helped me understand my issues and be a part of the conversation. I’ve never had a doctor exhibit that much attention and genuine care before. It was a wonderful and refreshing experience, and Dr. Cigna’s level of care made the 50 minute wait worth it.

I arrived at the office super early not expecting to be seen until my appointment time. I travel quite a distance to DC for work, so it was either arrive really early or possibly late. I was shocked when I was called back to be seen an hour EARLIER than my appointment! I couldn't believe it considering how packed her schedule is. Dr. Cigna knew more about my condition and the possible culprit(s) than the last 3 doctors I've seen combined. Not only was she up to date on medical research, but provided me with unique and comprehensive treatment options. She also made me aware of little things about my body and birth control that I had never been told before. Not to mention she's extremely personable and funny. I will not be returning to my previous gyno!
