Hey! You're seeking help because it is needed. That's huge! Many people don't seek treatment or therapy, but you're already on this path. Some folks don't find the path. You've got some idea of what you need and are ready for someone to be along with you on this journey. We both know humans succeed in a team, not so much when we are alone. First, give yourself credit because it takes a lot of courage to not do things alone and to be willing to open up to someone you do not know. Your courage is where our journey together starts. It would be an honor to be a part of your team in life, for life! Oh, hi, by the way, I'm Shakera Snelling. I am a dual-certified psychiatric and family nurse practitioner: I diagnose, prescribe, and utilize therapy for mental health and medical conditions. I earned my Master's in Family Nursing from the University of Alabama, Birmingham, and completed a Post-Master's Certificate in Nursing at Valdosta State University. A diagnosis or symptoms help us figure out a plan together, but they are NOT who you are. (Yeah, I know you've heard that before, but it's true!) High blood pressure does not define that person. Borderline personality, antisocial personality, obsessive-compulsive disorder, ADHD, substance use disorder, anxiety disorder, phobias, psychosis, self-harm, suicide attempts, and trauma do not define you either. Please KNOW you're way more amazing, beautiful, and complex than a label. Let's get started!

More information on payments and coverage
Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.
