About Dr. Shannon Capraro
Dr. Shannon Capraro, MD grew up in Lone Tree, Colorado and is happy to return to the state after completing her medical training. As a pediatrician, Dr. Capraro recognizes the privilege of caring for children of all ages and building trusting relationships with her patients and their families. She is especially passionate about caring for patients with type 1 diabetes, gastrointestinal disorders, and newborns. Additionally, Dr. Capraro is certified to speak medical Spanish with her patients.
After receiving the Boettcher Scholarship, she attended the University of Colorado at Boulder for her undergraduate studies. She received her medical degree from the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha, and then completed pediatric residency at Children’s Mercy Hospital in Kansas City, MO.
Dr. Capraro spends much of her free time with her husband, Marco, and young daughter. She enjoys the Colorado outdoor scene with hiking, biking, skiing, and volleyball, in addition to cooking together with her family and playing the piano.

Dr. Shannon is the absolute best! We saw her for our newborn’s wellness check-up. As first time parents, her personality/bedside manner made us so feel so relaxed and comfortable asking all the questions. We weren’t rushed at all and felt that she genuinely cared about our growing family. We are excited to have her as our son’s pediatrician!
