Shawn G. Anthony, MD, MBA, is Harvard-trained, Board-Certified Sports Medicine Orthopedic Surgeon specializing in shoulder, hip, and knee injuries. Dr. Anthony is the Associate Chief of Sports Medicine for Mount Sinai Health System and Associate Professor of Sports Medicine and Orthopedic Surgery at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai.
Dr. Anthony received his medical and business degrees from Harvard Medical School and Harvard Business School and completed his orthopedic surgery training at the Harvard Orthopedic Residency Program, where he was selected as Chief Resident at Massachusetts General Hospital. Dr. Anthony completed advanced fellowship training in Sports Medicine & Shoulder Surgery at the Hospital for Special Surgery in New York City, where he provided medical coverage for professional teams, including the New York Knicks NBA team, the New York Red Bulls MLS team, as well as New York PSAL football.
Dr. Anthony currently serves as a U.S. Ski & Snowboard team physician, Medical Director for Broadway performances, and a United States Tennis Association (USTA) orthopedic consultant, providing courtside medical coverage for the world's top tennis athletes competing at the U.S. Open Tennis Championships.
Dr. Anthony specializes in conditions of the shoulder, hip, and knee. He has special interest and expertise in:
