Dr. Sonia Jacob is a child, adolescent, and adult psychiatrist. Originally from the Sunshine State, she received her bachelor's degree from The University of Florida in 2015, where she majored in biology and minored in anthropology. She went on to receive her medical degree from Arizona College of Osteopathic Medicine in 2019, where she realized her passion for mental health and developed a holistic approach including body, mind, and spirit. She completed her residency at Einstein Medical Center in Philadelphia and completed her child psychiatry fellowship at Children's National Hospital, George Washington University, where she served as the wellness chair for the fellowship program. Dr. Jacob offers both medication management in addition to psychotherapy. She takes a comprehensive approach to therapy, utilizing CBT, DBT, and supportive skills to help patients achieve their goals. Throughout her training, Dr. Jacob has found great joy in the relationships she has built with the patients and families she has worked with. Outside of work, she enjoys spending her time with family, friends, and her Bengal cat, Zeke, traveling, playing/watching sports, indulging in various cuisines, meditation/yoga, and exploring new areas of interest.

Dr. Jacob is out of network, but her office provides an invoice for out of network mental health benefits. DR. JACOB'S RATES: New 21+ patient evaluation: $575 New 18-20 patient evaluation: $675 New child/adolescent evaluation (under 18): $1200 total (part 1 $525, part 2 $675) Follow up 30 minutes: $275 Follow up 45 minutes: $375 Follow up 60 minutes: $525

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Dr. Jacob offers both talk therapy and medication management. NEW PATIENTS UNDER 18: Dr. Jacob typically meets with new patients in a 2 part evaluation format. For Part 1 she meets with just the parents for 60 minutes, and Part 2 she meets with the child and the parents for 90 minutes. NEW PATIENT 18-20 YEARS OLD: Dr. Jacob meets with new patients between 18-20 for a 90 minute evaluation. NEW PATIENT 21 AND OLDER: Dr. Jacob meets with new patients 21+ for a 60 minute evaluation.
