About Stephen Roa
PA Stephen Roa is an experienced, compassionate and energetic board-certified Physician Assistant and health services provider. PA Roa graduated from Marista University and worked in New York Presbyterian hospital evaluating patients' medical histories, performed physical examinations, conducted pre-operative and post-operative assessments of patients, as well as perform a wide array of medical procedures. PA Roa joined Medical Arts offices to serve uptown and downtown population of New York City.
PA Roa works in conjunction with a group of Internal Medicine doctors at Medical Arts Comprehensive offices. He is seeing patients for various health issues, including hypertension, diabetes, as well as seeing patients for general consultations, annual physical exams and disease preventive consultations. PA Roa will refer his patients to a variety of in-house specialists and tests, if any health problems need to be investigated further. Medical Arts offices equipped with state-of-the-art technology and a variety of specialists, such as Neurologist, Cardiologists, Pulmonologist, Pain Management, Gastroenterologist, Podiatrist - to list few specialists - to provide comprehensive, in-office disease screening using non-invasive diagnostic testing available to patients during their visits at Medical Arts offices. MRIs, CTs are also available on-site at the Medical Arts offices.

The one thing that really stood out to me is that I was encouraged by two different people to add additional tests/diagnostics not having anything to do with the reason I was there. I went for my wrist and I was told "I'm going to add an abdomen MRI (or something) and a visit with the allergy doctor" which I declined. It was the same spiel to the 3-4 people that checked out before me. The person checking me out was insistent on a nerve test, which she didn't accept no on.
After my next appointment I won't be going there again. It felt to me like she was upselling additional unrelated services.

I was looking for a long term PCP considering my doctor for over 10 years moved out of NY. My last physical was 2 years ago. The doctor didn't even get up from his desk to look at my concerns. I don’t think i’ll be coming back, I will continue my search for a long term PCP.
