Dr. Tera Lensegrav-Benson, PhD

Psychologist
OH
I am a passionate licensed psychologist with over 20 years of training and experience in mental health, working across diverse settings and treating a wide range of concerns. I wholeheartedly believe in the power of therapy and have witnessed its profound impact while working alongside clients thousands of times. I provide personalized mental health care with compassion and heart. As a therapist, I am warm and transparent. I am here for you, and I don’t shy away from helping you see how you might be getting in your own way. Often, it’s helpful for clients to know a bit about the person they will be working with closely. A little about my background: I was born and raised on a farm and cattle ranch in rural South Dakota. I am grateful for this upbringing because, on the wild prairies, I developed the grit reflected in my professional work. I am a seeker by nature and was a voracious reader as a child. At a very young age, I became interested in psychology and mindfulness practice. Since childhood, I knew I wanted to become a helping professional. I fell in love with understanding the human experience and wanted to contribute to the lives of others. In high school, I was active in leadership roles, sports, and academics. I also lost multiple friends to suicide and substance abuse and became aware of mental health struggles within my family and friend network, which solidified my desire to gain the skills to make a true impact. I earned my Bachelor’s degree from Chadron State College and completed my PhD in Clinical and School Psychology at Utah State University. I completed my internship in Clinical Psychology at the New Mexico VA Health Care System, which further prepared me to provide effective, compassionate care.
