About Dr. Walker Mainwaring
Dr. Mainwaring is a dermatologist at Schweiger Dermatology Group. He grew up in El Paso, Texas, before attending Vanderbilt University, where he graduated magna cum laude with majors in neuroscience and Spanish. Dr. Mainwaring earned his Doctor of Medicine degree from Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, where he was selected for the Alpha Omega Alpha honor society. He then completed his residency in dermatology at the University of California, Los Angeles, where he was chosen to serve as chief resident.
Dr. Mainwaring has been published in numerous scientific journals and is a member of the American Academy of Dermatology. His clinical interests include early detection and optimal treatment of skin cancer and other dermatologic disorders, including psoriasis, eczema, acne, and immunobullous disease.

My experience with Dr. Walker was much better than I anticipated. It can be challenging to find a doctor who not only has a gentle bedside manner but also truly listens with the intent to understand, not just to hear. I was pleasantly surprised by how tall Dr. Walker is, you definitely can’t tell from the photo! ?? I arrived a little early for my appointment, which I usually do when I’m unfamiliar with the area.
I also had a wonderful experience with Angie. She was a temp who was called in at the last minute, and I happened to be there when she rushed in, got settled, and immediately took care of business. At first, I thought she worked at the front desk, but she was actually an assistant. She was incredibly pleasant and apologetic, even though she truly didn’t need to be. Her kindness and calm demeanor made my appointment much easier, especially since I was feeling anxious.
I would absolutely return and would gladly recommend Dr. Walker
