About Dr. Yodit Tefera

Dr. Yodit Tefera is a specialist in Sports Medicine and Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. She completed her residency training at New York Presbyterian Hospital Columbia and Cornell. During residency she received the Distinguished Housestaff Award for her exemplary service and was selected as chief resident of the Cornell campus.
She completed an ACGME-accredited Sports Medicine fellowship at Swedish Medical Center in Seattle, WA. The fellowship included high level and exceptional training in musculoskeletal and regenerative medicine, as well as diagnostic and interventional ultrasound procedures.
Throughout her medical training, she worked with various levels of individuals ranging from high school to professional athletes. This included the care of professional basketball, college soccer, basketball, softball, track & field, and cross-country players.
In addition to working with athletes, she enjoys caring for patients of all athletic ability, helping them to return to their everyday activities. From her diverse training Dr. Tefera is able to effectively diagnose and manage acute, sub-acute, and chronic musculoskeletal conditions including sports-related and overuse injuries.
In her free time Dr. Tefera enjoys long distance running and has participated in several half marathons. She also enjoys discovering new cities, restaurants, and spending time with her family and friends.

I made an appointment to have my shoulder/upper arm looked at, as I was having consistent pain in the area. Dr. Tefera was really sound. She listened to me, ran me through a few basic exercises, then did an ultrasound of my shoulder. I liked that I wasn't upsold on additional procedures - she kept it practical and emphasized that they'd only recommend more invasive procedures if the basic recommendations didn't help. I would go back.

I needed to find a new orthopedist quickly to address my issue since my old one had moved too far away. I found Dr. Tefera who had a great rating and available times and booked with her immediately with no issues. Everything went as smoothly as I hoped it would. I would definitely recommend her.
