Anabel Reynolds, MSW

Psychotherapist
TX
I am a New Yorker turned Texan after receiving my bachelor’s degree from the University of Maryland’s School of Public Health in psychology and family science. My passion for helping others and love for learning motivated my continual studies to pursue a master’s degree. I received my social work master’s degree from the University of Texas. Outside of the office, I am a wife and stepmom controlling the chaos two rescue dogs bring to my household, trying to snag some peace and quiet with a cup of coffee and a good book. When others talk about me, I do not want them to label my success by my achievements or job but by the number of lives I touch

What should a new client know about working with you?

I blend trauma-informed care with narrative insight — because any of my clients have learned to function through trauma showing up for others, managing the invisible labor of survival, and pushing forward even when no one saw what it cost them. Whether you’re stuck in survival mode, trying to unlearn perfectionism, or wondering who you are beneath the roles you’ve had to play, this is a space where we pause the story and begin to rewrite what comes next. I believe you already have the power to build a life you love. Therapy with me isn’t about labeling the glass as half full or half empty — it’s about recognizing that it’s refillable, and exploring what systems, relationships, or internalized beliefs have kept it from being refilled. Together, we’ll process complex trauma, explore what’s been buried beneath survival, and reclaim space for your voice, your needs, and your healing.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

I want therapy with me to have the vibes of sitting on the couch under a blanket with a cup of coffee or hot chocolate chatting about your week with the right blend of validation and challenging what may no longer be serving you. It isn't just about whether a glass is half full or half empty but about whether you know it is refillable and what needs to be changed to get it refilled.
