Getting to know Cherie Brown

I am committed to providing exceptional mental health care in a setting that values privacy, respect, and individualized attention. It is important to me to take a person-centered approach, ensuring that your voice is heard and your experiences are honored throughout the therapeutic process. I strive to break through barriers that often stand in the way of meaningful support, delivering high-quality care that is thoughtfully tailored to your unique needs. I invite you to book an appointment and begin a transformative experience where your well-being is my highest priority.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I am deeply committed to providing care that is culturally sensitive, trauma informed, trauma sensitive, gender affirming, and inclusive of each person’s identity and lived experience. I work with children, adolescents, adults, older adults, couples and families. I strive to create a welcoming, respectful space for individuals from all backgrounds.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

When we begin working together, our first step is an initial consultation—a gentle, open conversation where you can share what’s been weighing on you, your personal history, and what you're hoping to achieve through therapy. This is a time for us to connect, to help you feel heard and understood, and to begin shaping a path forward that feels right for you. From there, I’ll work with you to create a personalized treatment plan that honors your experiences and supports your goals. I draw from a variety of evidence-based approaches, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Psychodynamic Therapy, Schema Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Narrative Therapy, trauma-informed care, mindfulness-based strategies, and strengths-focused interventions. Together, we’ll decide what fits best for you and adjust as your needs evolve. Progress is regularly reviewed to ensure that the support you're receiving continues to align with your goals. Therapy is a collaborative process, and I place great value on open communication and regular check-ins. Your voice matters every step of the way, and I encourage honest feedback so that your care remains meaningful, compassionate, and truly supportive of your healing journey.
