Daphne St Valliere, LMSW

Daphne St Valliere, LMSW

Psychotherapist
NY
As a therapist, I specialize in treating various conditions and issues that consider race, augmenting my overall expertise in mental health. Some of the areas I focus on include anxiety and depression related to a myriad of traumas, as well as grief and life transitions such as career and relationship changes. I am a first-generation Haitian-American cisgender woman who understands the unique experiences of Black women, mothers, and multicultural individuals. I hold a Bachelor's degree in Forensic Psychology from John Jay College and a Master's in Social Work from Fordham University. My desire to support the needs of those in my community is deeply rooted in my own wish to be understood. By addressing these specific issues, I aim to provide a holistic and culturally sensitive approach to mental health care.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I have a personalized process when working with my patients. We discuss goals and highlight the therapy target at the onset of our therapeutic relationship. However, these sessions are yours and are meant to share and unpack anything you feel you need to process. So let's talk about it.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Initially, we complete a biopsychosocial assessment, spend a few sessions getting to know you, explore our goals in therapy, discuss the process or type of therapies that may be useful and then we talk and work through it all.
