I am a licensed clinical social worker in Washington, DC, with a Master's in Social Work from Indiana University, where I also earned my Bachelor's degree. I am a little older than most, in my early 60s, but am an open-minded optimist. I have over 20 years of experience working in Mental Health and Child Welfare settings, so there aren't too many issues that I haven't dealt with. I have worked with couples, families, individuals, and children facing a variety of challenges, including physical and emotional trauma, grief, depression, anxiety, addiction, relationship difficulties, and life transitions. I would describe my approach to therapy as eclectic, drawing on a variety of modalities to best serve a client's needs and goals.

What should a new client know about working with you?

That I have much experience working with different clients with different issues. I am non-judgemental and very straight forward. I have been in this field for many years so not much surprises me or intimidates me.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

I spend much time getting to know my clients and what they identify as their issue or area of concern. I am very empathetic but also have no problem with asking them probing questions that hopefully lead them to identifying a resolution to the presenting problem.
