“The best therapists I’ve ever seen. I have seen several therapists over the past 25 years and there were plenty of doozies. Gloria offers practical solutions to many of my issues. For some of my more stubborn issues, she did FIS, which helped tremendously. My life has done a 180 degrees from when I started to now. Like the physical body, mental health maintenance requires periodic check ins. I would recommend Gloria to anyone. ”

Getting to know Dr. Gloria Vanderhorst

Psychotherapy Over 30 years ago, I began practicing with a focus on early identification of children with ADHD and Learning Disabilities. Understanding how children function has helped me serve adult clients with or without ADHD. When working with a client, my focus is on the growth potential of that individual. As the individual strengths of each client are honored, they are able to address issues of anxiety, depression, and relationship dynamics. Through treatment, the individual begins to build a stronger sense of self and to understand the connection between mental health, physical health, and spiritual health. Collaborative Coach/Child Specialist Divorce is a common occurrence today, and historically the processes offered for divorcing couples have been damaging to families. The Collaborative Divorce is a process of mutual respect and cooperative problem solving that acknowledges the family will continue to exist in a new form. In the Collaborative Divorce, you will put together a team of professionals to help guide you through the complications that naturally go along with a divorce. As a divorce coach, I assist you in articulating your goals and the interests that underlie those goals. As the child specialist, I meet with the children to learn about their developmental needs and to bring their voices into the decision-making process so your choices will be well informed. Through the collaborative process, you will have the opportunity to develop improved communication skills, increase understanding of your children's needs, and assist in transforming your family structure to better meet your goals and interests. Parent Coordination When you request the assistance of a Parent Coordinator, you have come to a place where... I hold a PhD in Developmental Psychology from Bowling Green State University, which has deeply informed my understanding of child development and family dynamics throughout my career.

Gloria is INCREDIBLE - Insightful, wise, knowledgeable & skilled in the art of counseling. She is also perfectly professional & respectful of her busy clients' time. I feel so fortunate to have found her & benefitted from her care for over 15 years!
Extremely insightful. Very compassionate and reassuring. You can tell that Dr. Vanderhorst cares deeply about her profession and her patient.
Gloria is a very good therapist - always providing insightful feedback and ways to improve my mindset & outlook on all aspects of life. Just one session with her makes a difference, and regular therapy much more so. I really like her sharpness & directness, she does not beat around the bush.
Going through my divorce, I was looking for a therapist/counsellor to help coach me in rebuilding our family relationships, especially with my kids. I had met with a number of psychologists and therapists in the hope of finding someone who could provide advice as a "family coach" but none of them fit the bill until I had the good fortune to be introduced to Dr. Vanderhorst. Gloria has proved to be a sage counsellor and someone whose provided me with invaluable insights and strategies. I heartily recommend her to anyone seeking guidance through the minefield of life.
