Getting to know Jane H Miller

My name is Jane Miller, LISW (Licensed in Ohio), and I am honored to be joining this community. I have been in private practice for 30 years, and my work is my passion. It is such a gift to be trusted by clients and to work together with a sense of safety. I act as a catalyst for change, growth, and transformation. I deeply believe I was born to follow my dream of helping others live with the ability to fulfill their dreams. I provide individual psychotherapy for adults. I specialize in lesbian/gay/bisexual/transgender issues, family/interpersonal relationships, chronic/terminal illnesses, generalized anxiety disorders, bipolar disorder, depression, and trauma. I earned my Master’s in Clinical Social Work from Case Western Reserve University. At age 24, I was faced with my own mortality, which propelled me on a personal journey of healing and self-discovery. As a result, I am grateful to live each day to the fullest, cherishing every moment. I integrate holistic healing modalities that focus on the mind-body connection, including relaxation and stress reduction techniques, guided imagery, visualization, meditation, somatic practices incorporating polyvagal theory, QiGong, Reiki, pet therapy, creative arts, and movement techniques. For me, the therapeutic process is a learning process—one of exploration and healing. The client is the expert in his/her/their experience. I am here to guide you, help you reach your goals, and live a meaningful and fulfilling life.

What should a new client know about working with you?

As a result of the pandemic, clients are presenting with increased levels of social isolation, anxiety, and depression. They are looking for support. I provide individual psychotherapy for adults. I specialize in coping with chronic/ terminal illnesses, lesbian/ gay/bisexual/transgender issues, family/interpersonal relationships, anxiety and depression, and trauma. I integrate holistic healing modalities that focus on the mind-body connection including stress reduction techniques, somatic practices incorporating polyvagal theory. The focus of the first session is to get to know each other while building a sense of trust over time and a safe space where co-regulation is maintained. I think it is critical to pace the first session and be an active listener and compassionate inquirer.

More information on payments and coverage

Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.
