Karen Pitico, LCSW

Psychotherapist
AZ
I have been in the mental wellness business for over 40 years. My office currently sees individuals, couples, and families. MA, MSW, LCSW, MPH. I primarily use the Cognitive Behavior Therapy approach. My clientele includes teens ( 13 to 18 yo), adults over the age of 18, couples, and families. Most clients express concerns with anxiety, depression, OCD, stress at work/home/ in relationships, within the family members, grief, trauma, FMLA situations, and childhood trauma issues. Our office is small, two offices. The building itself houses only four other small businesses and subsequently little foot traffic which can be a peaceful environment. I have three master's degrees in the fields of clinical therapy interventions, Counseling, Social Work, and Public Health. My experience extends from psychiatric social work in an emergency room, inpatient, outpatient adult, and adolescent social worker in a hospital, director of a psychiatric facility, vice president of support services, chief quality manager, compliance officer, clinical director of various behavior health residential facilities, president/vice president of various mental health boards, vice president of the Az Mental Health Association. The first and sometimes the second session focuses on telling your story and expressing what a successful counseling experience means to you. The first session is completing the administration requirements that include answering risk factor questions, obtaining a relevant social history, what are your objectives with the counseling sessions and telling your story.
