Hi there, I'm Kihm!
Hi! My name is Kihm Jones. I'm a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Texas, and I've worked in counseling and psychology for over 30 years. I hold a Master’s degree in Rehabilitation Counseling from Southern Illinois University and a Master of Education in Counseling Education from Texas Tech University. I have taught psychology at the community college level and worked as a behavioral therapist in the neuropsychology department of a major hospital. I have also worked extensively with our military population and returning veterans. One of my greatest passions is helping individuals identify realistic and sustainable personal goals and guiding them in making the changes needed to live a personally meaningful and successful life.
I have experience helping clients with family-related issues, women’s issues, domestic violence, adoption, foster care, parenting, career challenges, physical disability, psychiatric concerns, and general emotional and mental health issues such as anxiety, depression, grief, self-esteem, coping with stressors, self-defeating behaviors, and spiritual matters, among a variety of concerns. I enjoy building an open and trusting working relationship that feels like a safe environment where there is deep understanding and confidence in pursuing a healing journey—a place where feelings and one’s private story can be shared without fear of judgment.
Seeking a more fulfilling and happier life takes courage and is best done with the assistance of a support system to guide that process. I look forward to supporting you on that journey. During our time together, we will work toward mutually agreed-upon goals that promote individual and relational growth in an ethically sound way. I view therapy through a dynamic and holistic approach, utilizing a number of therapeutic skills that address the whole person and their current condition.
