I specialize in working with people who are navigating anxiety, depression, anger, grief, and trauma. I tailor my approach to each individual/family that I work with. I use cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) to help you identify and reshape unhelpful thought patterns. I also use dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT) and solution-focused therapy, as well as mindfulness strategies. These approaches give you tools to feel more in control of your emotions and behaviors. Have you been struggling with anxious thoughts and self-doubt? I work with people of all ages who are managing anxiety and self-esteem issues. Are you having overwhelming feelings of sadness or anger? I will meet you where you are at and help you build coping skills to manage all of your emotions. I value clear, open communication to create a safe, supportive, and non-judgmental environment. I practice empathy and active listening. If we’re working through something challenging, you can expect me to be calm and reassuring. My counseling journey began with a deep desire to help others find strength through life’s hardest challenges. During my graduate training, I had the opportunity to work at a state mental hospital. This experience and the many years of experience that followed showed me the powerful role therapy can play in recovery. Therapy is a partnership, and together we will identify meaningful goals. We can change our goals at any time to ensure it’s always valuable to you. Even when working through challenges, including trauma, I’m here to provide support and help you gain the tools you need to be a healthy and loving person. It’s completely normal to feel anxious about your first appointment. During our first session, we will be getting to know one another. We’ll discuss your background and what brings you to therapy.
