She then received her Master's Degree in Social Work from the University of Houston Graduate College of Social Work. She has over 20 years of experience providing therapy to clients from a variety of backgrounds. The modalities she uses include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy with an emphasis on a solution-focused approach. She has worked with a variety of individuals and has helped them with depression, anxiety, adjustment disorders, women's issues, as well as major life transitions.

Maria is an amazing fit for me as a therapist. I was fully expecting to have to shop around for a therapist to find one that would be a good match, and I honestly lucked out. She’s not only a great listener but helps me process difficulties I’m going through and ways I can react or act differently if it were to happen again. I find Maria to be a good balance of being practical yet supportive. Virtual appointments with her are always on time and this being my first therapy experience has been a great experience so far. I’ve seen a few therapists and hadn’t found the right one, Maria is her! She was able to ask guided questions and made me feel very comfortable with talking about things I’m usually not comfortable discussing and it seemed so natural. I also appreciated that it felt like she genuinely cared and showed interest. I’m looking forward to beginning my healing process with her.
