Clients should know that I bring a unique mix of personal insights and professional experience to my practice. I grew up in Aurora, Colorado, and attended Overland High School. I earned a Bachelor's in Psychology with a Minor in Physical Education from the University of Northern Colorado. After that, I studied Marriage and Family Therapy at Pepperdine University and graduated in 2002. I recently completed my Doctorate in Sport and Performance Psychology at the University of Arizona, which enables me to support my athletic clients effectively. My background in Clinical and Sport and Performance Psychology, along with eight years as a licensed special education teacher, enables me to offer a wide range of services. My approach My approach to therapy focuses on providing community-based services to children, adolescents, and adults through a variety of techniques. These include play therapy, group sessions, health and fitness integration, behavior modification, education, sport and performance psychology, and addiction therapy. I understand that people genuinely desire happiness and want to perform at their best, but life often presents “blocks” that hinder their progress. My role is to help clients identify and remove these obstacles, guiding them toward finding joy and success in their lives. With my background in Clinical and Sport & Performance Psychology, along with eight years of experience as a licensed special education teacher, I offer a unique combination of services that few clinicians in the state can provide. I strive to deliver high-quality therapeutic services, ensuring that they are accessible to those who need them most. I also utilize advanced techniques that research shows are effective for treating complex issues like PTSD. Since 2021, I have been trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), and I have seen remarkable results with my clients.
